20$ at the gate IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE, 30$ for Show and Sound at gate

Spectator entry = donation

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seeing as the Hillbillies are being called out, I'm certain we'll arrange a GTG that evening. Possibly a MTN Run the following morning?

Hoping to see some REAL cars come out and not let highschool rice takeover...

Come on out and help fund a good cause!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

HERE IS THE ENTRY FORM

Print it and fill it out and mail it (check payable to Pope High School) to Tyler and I'll make certain it gets into the proper hands. If you're mailing it, make certain you send it ASAP as this is a time for slow snail mail due to taxes...

At the show, you will need only a license or something to prove who you are to get your car in. We will have all information and payment information on hand.

Question, how good were the turnouts of this Pope CarShow the past few years? Trying to decide if it's worth it or not for me to ask off work.

rollininstyle2004
01-25-2006, 09:44 PM
Sounds like it could be a fun little off season show. Ill try and make it out :goodjob:

EvasiveEF9
01-25-2006, 09:47 PM
I can't garuntee it'll be worth asking off work, as our ceiling right now will probably be 150 cars and it's our first attempt at a carshow held there by US (Joker Performance) as well as AudioTrix. However, I expect we'll have around 75-100 cars turnout, and I'm trying to reach some former mtn runners of mine to come out including a Ferrari 355 F1, Lotus Elise, 350Z, Drift Supra, and I KNOW a 456hp@wheel MSE mach T/A will be there (friend from work). Also, we have an SPL competition going on, so I assume we'll see some nice-nicity there as well. So we should have some nice rides make an appearance, but again, asking off work...I don't know about that...

Whoever's CRx that is...GOD that's clean. :goodjob: to the EF's and I hope to see you there.

That Passat is NOT bad either. I roll with Passat's and germans in the mtns :D

There's talk of a GTG @ Wild Wings afterwards. Beers around the table, gentleman, for those who are of drinking age.

rollininstyle2004
01-25-2006, 10:13 PM
Is the Audio comps SPL only? No SQ or install awards?

Also what are you giving out awards for? 1st-3rd? More? Just curious.

Also are the judges decideing what class we fall under (the stock/mild/wild) or are we just writting it down? If we are writting it in, what are your limits for each class (sometimes i feel i am between stock and mild...)?

KevinT707
01-25-2006, 10:14 PM
Hmm I see, well I might still register. Oh the CRX is mine, "Cleanest CRX" you didn't know ? :)

Whoever's CRx that is...GOD that's clean. :goodj

EvasiveEF9

I'm a fan of the EF chassis, obviously. Love mine. Can't wait to get the body work done, but currently it's focused on interior and audio. Hope to see you there, wouldn't mind talking to you about that LSVTEC. I'm sittin' on 251Kmi D15B2...can't wait to swap :D

I believe SPL only, not install or SQ for this show. Sorry.
I believe trophies are first-third. I'm not in charge of that part of it, so I'll let you know as soon as I know. But I think they're shooting for 1-3.

EvasiveEF9
01-25-2006, 10:52 PM
Haha, sorry, must be a vortex thing? GTG = Get Together...GTG would be at Wild Wings most likely, BYOB (Buy your own) so that's where the "of age" comes into affect... it'd be the one up on Roswell by the 120 loop.

At nopi if you had a kit you were wild but put what you think you are on there and we will change it if it is wront and tell you. If you want us to be able to tell you b4 the show include a pic of your car w/ registation

Nittanys1
01-26-2006, 04:53 PM
At nopi if you had a kit you were wild

umm im gonna say no to that....its more like mild...if the kit is molded on then its wild....

I was going to pre-reg but pay the day of the show...ok?

also why do you need our license plate number?

EvasiveEF9
01-26-2006, 07:21 PM
License plate number is simply for identification at the gate. If you choose not to put it on there, that's ok. The only purpose is for identification, but if you put your name and use your license or school ID or whatever, then that'll do just fine.

I'd be more down with beer if I could legally drink. :2up: one more year...

As for the classes, we'll place you under the proper category if you're not already there. However, in my opinion, this is what qualifies you..

Stock: Anything stock, or just above stock, such as quiet rims (and by quiet, I mean they don't scream for attention) quiet body work, quiet interior work, or anything done to go with EDM, or JDM styling. Single tone paint, or two-tone if it's factory. Window tint.

Mild: Projects may fall under this category. This cat will allow a few bolt-ons and mild body kits (for those that know them, most of the wings west kits, "buddy club" kits, etc) and non-outrageous wings. Two-tone paint jobs that aren't "loud", exhaust work, etc.

Wild: Huge wings, crazy body kits (like invader-style, etc) slammed to the ground, hydraulics, altezza (god help us all...) lights, fiberglass everywhere, etc.

If you have questions or still aren't sure, mark yourself to the category UNDER what you think you car is (in other words, if you think it's wild, but aren't quite sure, go ahead and put "mild" and we'll change it if neccesary) or option B is to send a picture to "[email protected]" (thats' me) and I'll let you know. Or just post a picture up here, or a link to a picture with your car and I'll let you know what to fall under.

Hope I answered all questions, and help me to keep building interest and spread the word ;)

rollininstyle2004
01-26-2006, 09:34 PM
Joker, do me a favor and click the "my car" link in my Signature and tell me what class i should be in. Im pretty sure i should be in Mild, but i just want to make sure :goodjob:

Thanks

I should be there with my Supra. Sounds like it will be alot of fun!

So is there 1st. 2nd, 3rd places in each class or...?

EvasiveEF9
01-28-2006, 02:52 PM
Snap, I forgot to mention about the trophies.

I talked with the guy in charge of that today, there's apparently 27trophies that will be going out, and all classes have a 1-2-3 place.

EvasiveEF9
01-28-2006, 03:53 PM
Please pass the word to anyone who might be interested as well as post on any other forums that might have a few people interested. So far we have a myspace group it's been posted in, Honda-Tech.com, VWVortex.com, and obviously, here.

As of right now, we've got one, maybe two supra's, two lotus' up in the air, a drag bike, 456hp 1982 T/A, C6 SPL vette, SPL Van, SPL Truck, M3 will be there, he's not sure if he's showing, 20lb bst Golf, Ferrari and 911T trying to make it plus more...we've got some good cars, but hte more the better, and obviously more fun.

If we get more cars, we'll probably end up adding classes and adding trophies, so keep 'em comin'.

Speed...the event is support the S.A.D.D. organization of whom is against this. Although is has actually been a frequently asked question, the answer is no. Although, most have actually asked about drift instead of drag. I myself would want to jump in on auto-x. But anyways, back to the point, there'll be no competitive driving taking place...after all, it is a high school parking lot.

You'll be a special case until I hear from you on pre-reg. ;) Hope you get it.

Sorry, everyone, I just got home from work. As of right now, the show IS still on. However, we got a rain date for if we decide to cancel. We won't know for definite if we're going to cancel until the morning, but I'll be up at 5am on saturday morning, so feel free to call me on my cell phone before you depart for the show.

That number is 404.452.2215

If it's cancelled, the rain date will be same time and place on March 11th.

If it's only damp, we're still looking to hold the show, however if there is anything more than mist in the air, it will be moved to the rain date.

If you have any other questions, I'll be checking IA until late-night tonight, and will have my cell phone on me. Feel free to call, my name is Ben.

Fingers crossed for no rainfall, guys.

I'm good to go with Dane Cook's latest album displayed on the dash...
The C6 Show vette is ready
C5 Vette is prepping
76 T/A is ready on call
72 240Z needs a bath, but is ready to roll

How're ya'll lookin'?

Weather.com is showin' some clouds skipping across the tip-top of Ga, but otherwise dry on a 600mile range.

1800mile range is showin' everything in like...just west and north of TX.

As far as how we are doing:
Me--car not done yet, so no showing for me :( Ill still be there for the good cause and to support my team.
FX is brining 6 cars minimum, that is just off the top of my head. Should be closer to 10, but im not 100% positive about some people.

Im holding out for no rain as well :)

SHOW IS STILL ON. So head on up. IF IT GETS CANCELLED...we're working on a date in March that will be later announced. Anyone that cannot make that date will be refunded. However, we're currently setting up as it is. If it rains, we're packin' up quickly and it'll turn into a get together up at Wild Wings.

Looking forward to meeting several of you...come on up just to look if you don't care to show.

02-18-2006, 08:14 PM
well truthfully I was signed up to do the SPL and everyone went to the shop that was doing the sound comp cuz the school wouldnt give them power...so everyone got there and for about an hour the shops "show'em off truck" was tuning their subs...so I waited and waited and waited (remember it was cold as crap and misty) So i left after being there for and hour plus and the truck was still testing....I would have LOVED to test my new subs but didn't get the chance as they were testing FOREVER...(note im not 100% sure that the ruck was the shops ones but im 99% sure it was.....)

Sorry to be away for so long.

Yeah, judging definitly wasn't just. It was rushed, and I do apologize for that. Because of that factor, several cars WERE judged unfairly.

The show was completely unorganized MOSTLY in part to the school. I do NOT by any means lay full responsibility, and honestly I'm halfway embarassed by how the show went, but we did the best we could with what we were handed...as well as the fact we didn't receive half the supplies we were told we would get.

The school promised us to have the back area of the school for the show, and the front area was to be just for parking. When we arrived, the gate was locked, and suddenly we weren't allowed to be back there. After this, we had a few people use the restrooms...of which we were yet again in trouble for using, and we were no longer allowed. The school then took back their promise on offering us a huge tint of which we had planned to use for registration, judges, etc. Finally, as everyone heard, we were not priveleged with electricity.

The shop can't be blamed for the SPL setup that was offered. Everything was to be set up and (I don't have much knowledge on how these things work, but I guess the word to use would be) calibrated by 10. We weren't told we wouldn't receive power until about 1030, so AudioTrix packed up and ran to the shop to try to set up as best they could. The van does belong to the shop, and it was used to test and calibrate (again, I think that's the word to use) the SPL meter. Oh, that's another thing...the school went back on their promise to fund the shop for having to hire extra help for the event, nor were they funded the neccessary money for renting the SPL meter.

Oh...plus the obvious freezing wet weather.

However, in spite of all of this, I still hang my head high, hope that the event will be forgiven, and the next show that myself and my club are responsible for will be a complete turnaround. In addition, I've learned my lesson that I cannot count on my former school to do jack shit.

Thanks to everyone who turned out, and special thanks to the car club Elite who came a decent journey to make the show.

I hope to see you at events elsewhere this year.

Thanks again.

I don't think the show went too bad. My club took home 3 first place, 2 second place, and 1st place in stereo. It was cold. i was just about to post something and will bite my tongue....

a little snip from it...

"not trying to be tooooo rude but the tibby at the show DEF should have not being in wild!
and FYI for you next show....a lip kit is a lip kit...nothing more nothing less....its not a body kit its a lip kit...just cuz one look more "radical" then another in no means makes it more of a mod then the other..."

your car is really nice man...im not trying to hate on you..but when i talked to the judge(s) and they didnt even see that my car was molded and had fender flares added!?!? maybe I should yell at my body shop for doing such a good job!!!

Screet Ho's
02-21-2006, 11:53 PM
I agree I didn't want to be in wild and it shouldn't have been in wild. I don't even consider the Tib mild. There isn't that much done to it. It definately shouldn't have won in wild. Against you or the Maxima that was suppose to be in wild. Again I shoudn't complain, but I would rather win fairly Mods vs. Mods not over personal preference.

It was for a good cause, and that's what matters. My club has been throwing around an idea to throw our own car show. I've judged several USACI World Finals in KC with the KC Screet Ho's. It has to be Mods vs. Mods not over personal preference. The time and money invested in a car has to be a major factor. When we decide to throw a show I hope you come. Don't hate the Tib!

I think just about everyone disagreed with judging...even I, one of the judges, disagreed. Keep in mind though, I wasn't the only judge.

The accord was DEFINITLY a head turner...Travis, you've got a NICE ride, hands down. To mention, the rain and cold had me overlooking things, of which two MAJOR things were the outstanding paint with mettalic flake. I wish I'd seen it in broad daylight, and could have gotten our photographer to get some nice shots of it to send you. Second was the molded body kit that fit more snugly than a redneck to a TV with Mariah Carey's music video for the movie Duke's of Hazzard on. Definitly hands down to you and your shop for a clean ride. I can't wait to see it under the sun at the Berry College (hopefully I'll make it).

The cars that were bumped to "wild", again...were clearly not "wild". The cars we put in those categories was an attempt to try to give out as many trophies as we could. Pretty much all the cars that came out would have been placed in mild, but then only three trophies would have been given out *(with the exception of Pre-80, domestic, SUV, SPL, and stock). So basically, what I'm saying is that you were placed there...eh...shall we say "on a curve"?

Again, I don't turn all of the blame away from myself, the club, the shop, and/or anyone else involved, and can't thank enough those who showed up. The guy above me in my club had a conference with the school on Tuesday, though, and pretty much told them they made us, the shop, and the school look like shit. I haven't heard in detail, but supposedly they want us to try again. Personally I say fuck them...which is what I thought the first time they requested a show from us. After all, this being the school that suspended me for defending myself in the halls while I attended there...it wasn't my fault the instigator had a ceisure.

Anyways, back on topic, I'll let ya'll know what the school had to say. I also must say I CAN'T wait til my club's next meeting so I can express my personal feelings of distaste towards their lack of enthusiasm and determination. Would anyone like me to pass on personal messages?

Screet Ho's
02-22-2006, 08:00 PM
You guys judged in extreme weather. Things were overlooked and I can't really blame you for overlooking things. As cold and wet as it was I would have missed things too. Our club would come back to your show rather we won or lost due to the fact you were out doing the best you could in terrible weather. Don't just look at complaints because there will be complaints from almost every show that is thrown.

Nittanys1
02-22-2006, 08:01 PM
you shouldnt bump up cars to just give out more awards...that makes everything LESS competitive...if you had extra trophies after the show that were not going to go anywhere you could have just give them out to who ever wants them (lol :D) or take them back to the show that did then and maybe get some cash back?

Thanks, Screet.

Travis-will do next go-round. Thanks for positive input.

Nismo, sounds like you had a rough go-in with AT? It's quite possible you caught them on a rough day. I've seen them work in several vehicles...or rather, in, on, around...bikes, trucks, suv's and cars alike. One I've seen in detail was the C6 Corvette that belongs to one of the members of my club. Everyone I"ve seen them work with has been legit work, and friendly with the exception of when dumbasses come in trying to be hot-shit. In that event, AT, as well as any other shop, one of which REALLY comes to mind is Sound Sensations...will talk down on you. Or, obviously, if you catch them on a bad day...you're gonna get rude treatment. Un-professional, yes, but everyone's got their bad days...such as Meggamaxx of whom we contacted a few days before the show and offered openings to any cars they wanted to turn towards the show, including the shop itself if they wanted to. The guy who called was cursed out and hung up on. Not to mention past dealings my club has had with them that have been....less than professional.

Don't get me wrong on ripping other shops, that's not what I'm here to do. Sound Sensations does OUTSTANDING work...but they've talked down on me, and everyone I know about their...workmanship, products, knowledge, etc. And I've heard this to be their reputation. But again, they do outstanding work.

As for Meggamaxx...they're just not on my good list after my history of attempting to work with them.

Other than that, I can push too much blame off of AudioTrix as they only have three true employees...the owner, Eric, who rocks when he's not pissed. His close friend who I've seen nothing but pure quality and creative work from, Daniel. Finally, there's the bitch of the shop...he's usually found at the counter and doing the blood-work of the audio work that goes on...Alex. And their tint-er, can't recall his name, but he's not really an AT employee...just drops in for tint.
