Aight so my friend is debating on either turboing or supercharging his car. He said that he was worried about the turbo causing problems from getting to hot. I told him it seemed to me their would be something that could be bought to not have to worry about that. that's something besides what comes with the whole turbo kit. just wondering if y'all had any suggestions

Don't do either to the Cavalier. Too much money for not enough performace. The internals on the Cav are not going to be strong enough to handle much boost. Instead of spending $3500 on a supercharger or turbo kit, spend $1500 and get a complete nitrous kit installed. That way, when he changes to another car, he can take it off and install it in the next car.

neither, but for the turbo heating prob, after you run it let it cool down, it is not that hard.

You could do like that one gay guy did on here, and make a Cobralier.... Take the supercharged motor out of a Cobalt SS and put it in your Cavalier... and tell your friend to get off his high horse lol, this is just a message board, who cares if he drives a domestic... so do I, 91 5.0 mustang and a 90 s10 blazer, neither one are imports = P

Hello Everybody,

Its the friend who didn't want to join. I thought that it was for imports, and trust me I'm not on a high horse. I don't even own a horse. I appreciate your comments and I'm probably going to save that amount of money and put it towards the car I really want. Thanks for the advice again.

Thanks,
J

^^^Greensboro huh? I work in Milledgeville and live in McDonough. Welcome to the site. I agree with the logic of not to turbo or SC a cavalier unless you plan to do a full build on the engine or do a swap to a Cobalt SS motor first. I know it's great to be different but if you wanna be different you better be able to pull it off. BTW, I have a few cars your friend may be interested in. PM me or give me a call at my office in M'ville. 478-452-1058, my name's Michael
