Since we are getting kind of big and the traffic has picked up in here, i wanted to organize this forum a little more. not really make "rules" so to speak, but condense it and make it easier to read.
Meets:
I noticed Speedmonkey is doing meets at his restaurant pretty much every sunday night. so i though we could make it one post that was stickied, he will be in charge of who he lets come to this event, so noobs PM him. thoughts?
Video sticky thread:
Charles takes some good videos, and so does the speedmonkey crew along with some others. so i thought about making a Video thread that we can all post links and update it with. that way there is one thread to click on and watch whatever you want.
your thoughts and input is GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds like a plan to me. I think this could really turn into a fun thing. Kinda weird that back in the day this was a perdominant show car site and now there is a select group of members that are spawning off to possibly give the site some credibility with the racing scene now as well...

you cant make sub forums, or at least i cant. and i dont think the higher ups would do that

Good idea, but does anyone else think this sounds like the kills sub forum should just be it's own website (and not be a sub forum with more sub forums)?

ya.. that also seems like a good idea

this section is big enough to have 1 thread for meets and 1 thread for videos. i dont think a seperate website is the answer. more people log onto IA than any other website in the SE, and thats where are members are from . i say we keep it organized WITHIN the web site.

idc as long as it is organized :D

O.K. Lets say that we did set it up with one thread for videos and one thread for meets. vteckidd made a video, speedmonkey made video, ludster made a video etc.. etc.. how can we have all these different videos organized under one thread? Doesn't it seem like it would be more jam-packed with all these different videos?
Same thing with the meets..

Idc either way, it just seems like people in the kills forums stay in the kills forums (or other technical automotive related forums), and therefore might as well be on a seperate site, since they pretty much seperate from the rest of IA anyways.

its reall easy. it would be like this :
KILLS FORUM VIDEOS-name of thread
[vteckidd vs eg turbo k series}
[speedmonkey crew]
[joe schmoe versus blahblahblah]
[350z vs 900whp evo]
people can PM or email me vids or post in the thread and ill keep adding it to the top of the list.

Why not make a sticky video thread, and allow ONLY videos to be posted. Comments related to the video could be made in a seperate thread. So lets say Charles is the first to post a video, he would make a thread also called "whaterever video post #1" and in this thread is where all comments related would go. The only thing to go into the sticky thread would be a link to video and a link to the comment thread.

^that makes more sense, video in the sticky and comments on a separate thread

thats what i was getting at. so if you ever want to see it or find it, you can just go to the sticky thread. itll be listed with a description.

ok, I read everything on Page 1 & 2 and I only understand about 70% of it but I'm sure you Kills Forum dudes will do a great job at organizing the Kills Forum w/ Videos & Meets. I will also be contributing videos to Kills of the CRX vs Ludester/Morelian/SpeedMonkey/Batman/All-Motor Acura/Hondas (basically a friendly callout) ;)

I personally kinda like how videos are posted now... I'll post a new thread with *VIDEO* in the title somewhere and post a link to a video in the 1st post... then get pages of feedback on it. It it wasn't for the positive feedback, I wouldn't be as motivated to make videos... so I wouldn't appreciate having to post my videos in a thread and not being able to discuss it in that thread.
However... I think after a week or so of a video being discussed and posted as a thread, the link should be taken and pasted into a sticky thread for reference purposes, in case anyone on IA wants to see some older videos... also, the videos should be limited to IA.com members ONLY, not random videos from the internet.
Also, if someone wants to donate me some webspace, bandwidth, and a user login / pw / port# for ftp access, I'd appreciate it. I just got an email from my school saying I'm taking up way too much bandwidth every month as well as space. I get ten's of thousands of downloads from my site monthly from all over the world... and from all sorts of other forums . -.-

That's basically what I was saying. Except everyone would post the link with the video in 1 thread (which would be a sticky), and no comments should go in this thread, only video. Then there would be a 2nd thread (for each video) where people could comment on the video, and you could reference your video by the post post # in the sticky thread.
