makes your stomach and nuts tighten up considerably! Anyone who has not felt the pull when you kick in VTEC and can make power to 9500 RPM's really should experience it sometime. It may not be the most powerful or fastest thing around but definately a fun experience none the less.

did you change over to obd1 and chip?? Otherwise I don't know how you made it past the rev limiter at 8k.

yeah my ecu has been chipped by the previous owner, my car had some internal work and i believe the timing was moved up a little....i'd have to ask him about it some more, i wasn't really concerned

^^Mine might be since it was making power out to 9200.:) Depends on what my super tuner thinks though. I may go to the track tonight in Eatonton to see what the new 1/8 is gonna be.

yeah we already talked about it, we think it might rev out to 10k ONE TIME on the dyno. i wouldnt reccomend it and i wont leave your Rev limiter there lol. there is a serious bearing issue after 9500rpms.

Did you know that stress on a crankshaft DOUBLES from 8000 rpms to 9000 rpms? IE the force and load on a crankshaft at 8000 rpms, that number DOUBLES in 1000 rpms to 9000 rpms. can you imagine the difference between 9000-10,000 rpms? its alot, especially on stock rods.

you can handle 9500 with the short stroke an the ARP bolts and the balancing, but i dunno about 10k rpms. if you mishift at 9500 rpms, its a hell of alot easier on the motor that mishifting at 10k and possible going to 11K+

Yeah, I don't want to sacrifice my drivability, or reliability. I need this shit to last at least a few years. Hell, we can do the stuff we talked about as far as the advancing of Cam/ign. but really it's strong as shit right now. The only main things right now that I am wanting to get done asap is the speedo/fan.

When we do the project bottom end w/ fully forged internals and ported head then we'll look at 10k+! BTW have you found me a power steering pulley? Something else I know you haven't thought about, but keep an eye out for me is a 65mm tb. If you can find one before the catch can gets in, I'd rather have that than the can.

i've seen an si swap take it to the first "S" in the SRS light on the tach, somewhere around 11k or so i would guess... it was screaming.
