Since you're looking for a car to support a married couple, consider a mid-full size sedan ie: 02-03 Maxima/Altima/Accord

Save the 20k, go snag a stripped shell at a junk yard and start bolting on the parts :D You'll enjoy it much more. I've made my wife help me on some projects and it turns into fun for them too, lol

I was going to pick up a 91 chassis 180 at a junk yard, had no motor/tranny. Was selling for $500, and was going to spend a few more bucks on a SR to slap in it.

are you planing on having children? that would be a big thing to consider.

that aside I really like: Evo9, IS300, Cobra, or a....GS-R MO' FO"!!! :goodjob:

you should just go to Carmax(don't buy ther PLEASE!) and test drive a bunch of cars. then when it's time to leave have a buddy call and tell the sales guy it's an emergency and you "must leave not". good luck
