This one is for the evo guys. Does anybody around here run the Tommi 16g/20g? I know of a few evos up north that have used it and the benefits sounds modest but as far as 16g performance goes (low 12's on an evo 8) I hear its bulletproof.

I just want to know more about how it actually performs.

From an Evo VI right? My roomie has an Evo III 16g on his project now but I believe he was going to go with the TME 16g instead, Ill ask him what he has heard.

Was the EVO 6.5TME a twin scroll or something? I'll have to do some research. I thought the 6.5 was mechanically identical to the 6. Skilly, you talkin about Gavin? He's got an EVO big 16G (pretty sure it's EVO III-spec). Those EVO IV+ turbos are a completely different ballgame. Or maybe I'm wrong. Who the hell knows.

Yeah I thought he was talkin about something bigger later on, could be wrong though. From what I know the TME has a lighter center section, titanium I think.

TME 16G ... same as the normal big 16g except it uses titanium-aluminide wheel which theoretically allows it to spool 33% faster. It also uses the 10.5cm^2 hot-side instead ot the 9.8cm^2. The "TME" just refers to the titanium-aluminide wheel in the 16g or 20g allowing faster spool... not really worth the money if you ask me.

Yeah that's what I was wondering. I knew I had the titanium wheel but I wondered what it did, durability or power. Yeah I'm not getting one....I was just looking at what made them special.

the 16g spools fast enough as it is, and 20g are great if you don't want to spend a lot of money, but there are better BB turbos that put out comparative power and faster spool times.

The "TME" refers to Tommi Mäkinen Edition:

Yes... and the Tommi Mäkinen Edition turbo sports the turbo-aluminide wheel... so therefore, when you hear all the buzz about a TME 16g, they're referring to the alternative material of the wheel, not Tommi Mäkinen himself. =]
