i'm buying the NX stage 1 with the upgrade kit

i'll have a bottle heater, gauges, all that good stuff

should i run colder plugs?
what else would be a good idea?

i know K-pro would be nice, but i'm not looking to spend a grand, just small other things that are slipping my mind like plugs...

yes, colder plugs are always good to get if you run nitrous. 1 stage colder if your running small shot like 35 or something & 2 stages colder if your running 75+ (NOPI).

How will the car run just daily if i'm using 2 step colder plugs? and what about NOPI? you saying get plugs from them?

if you run a big shot you may want to retard the timing a degree or two depending on how big

retard the timing, get KPRO and a FPR. get it on the dyno

do they make adjustable cam gears for the K20a3?

so how will my car run with the 2 step colder plugs while i'm just driving it to and from work and such?

Yeah and the plug you'll be wanting to get are the NGK BRKE-7r's
They are 2 step colder. Don't use honda stock gap specs. I have mine gapped at .28-.30

welcome to nitrous.

your either :
1) Fast ON the bottle, slow OFF the bottle
or
2) Fast OFF the bottle, slow ON the bottle

there are adjustable cam gears by skunk2 for K20A2 motors, i dont know the compatibility of them to K20A3 motors.

best thing to do is get KPRO to turn down the timing and tune the fuel. this is what it costs to be SAFE.

You gotta pay to play... especially if you wanna play safe.

^^true

but what does cam gears have to do with it?

Confusing which timing is which?

from what ive found, Kpro is the only way to adjust my timing, and ppl have hadvery little trouble running nitrous on the K20A3. i want to go ahead and get the kit installed and ive decided i'm going to come back and get K-pro in a few months, most likely through you guys at Mainstream.

Most ppl say that a dry kit runs best with K-pro because fuel is controlled by K-pro, how well would my wet kit work with K-pro?

oh yeah definaetly, ive bought all the safety switches, gauges, and accessories, and I am doing everything right, not trying to cut any corners, i just wanna be safe. and as fast as possible WHILE being safe...

I would bet you can run a 50shot without any major issues. as long as you have enough fuel to compensate, the timing should be ok. but ive never done one so i really cant tell you whats best.

Perhaps a MSD box could control the timing?

good luck either way

you should be safe on the 50 shot with stock timing. if aything to be extra safe, just retard it a degree or two. also with colder plugs, you should be fine.

i run a wet kit on my car,i only use the jets to tune it. just keep it on the safe side and you'll be ok.

Does MSD make some kind of control module that would allow me to set between two different timing modes? or maybe i would jsut have to call them and ask heh... oh and yaeh i'm going with some colder plugs

i think i should be okay on the fuel end of thigns because i'm running the wet kit, so as long as i dont get nitrous happy, i think it should run just fine

Yup that's why people get the MSD units. Once it reads WOT and the Switch being on it retards any set amount of degrees you set it. I recommend a Programmable one as they're extremely easier to use than the reg ones.

UPDATE: so ive got the solenoids mounted and the bottle in place, i'm going to run the n20 feed line under the car and wire my bottle heater and FPSS

these are pretty simple installs, although mounting the WOT is a super huge pain in the ass... and the kit was supposed to come with purge, but now i need to buy that too heh

The 50 shot will do just fine on stock timing . I did it with the same kit on a 97 civic with NO problems. If you run the 75 shot with no tuning your motor wont last long enough to get the k-pro...

actualy i'm going to start with the 35, then move up to the 50 just like the instructions recomends heh, unless i get some kind of timing control, i wont get above a 5 shot, (AKA K-pro or some MSD box)

Sounds like your on your way to some fun.... Just go get a hour of dyno time and make shure the a/f is ok...
