Ok, I am looking to get a new car, a Volvo actually, but I don't know that much about them. I heard that you can only go to the dealerships for oil changes and any kind of work...is that true? I have no idea, its just what I heard.

Also, I am trying to decide between a 1999-2001 S80 or S40 - is one better than the other or any preferences....any advice you guys could give would be helpful!

Thanks in advance

i do want a tl - but i want a brand new 05 TL - and i can't afford one of those. i am looking to cut the cost of my car payment. i am going to sell the maxima, take the cash from that, pay off the rest of my loan and put that towards a new car. and then just pay what i have to pay on the rest of the car.

You gonna mod it or leave it stock, too? Will this affect your status and postion in the EMCC circle? Later, QD.

My advice, get 04 TL with 10K miles, and save yourself about $5K.

Do you change your oil yourself anyway?

Well, I probably won't be modding it for awhile. Right now I am just looking for something reliable and pretty.

No I won't be changing my oil -I'm a typical girl - I don't know how to change my oil, like James said - that is his job.

Oh and Alex, :jerkit: that was sooo gay!

if you get an s40 get the new T5 model w/ stick... the older ones are really slow. and s80 vs. s40, i would buy s60R turbo, awd, stick ;)

i looked at s40's and 3 series bmw's... after driving both i still bought a 1.8t Golf over them ;)

Kristi
04-08-2005, 03:16 PM
well i can't afford a new one. i am getting these cars for 10K - 11K so I am not getting a new one.

I can't drive a stick well, so I will be getting an auto plus I drive in so much traffic, i don't wanna stick.

it looks like it is going to be between a 2001 S40 or a 2000 S80

How would there ever be a volvo on the road if you could only go there for repair work? (or did i just read that wrong?)

I know someone that's a service manager at the Volvo. He's on here sometimes, black 240 with R34 suspension and a few other mods ;) he can probably find some really good deals...

Just To chime in as the Resident Car Sales Guy. I think you could get a great Volvo for around 10-11k but I would be sure that is something you really want.

I would stay away from a volvo. Shit is not cheap when it breaks.

Just keep Riding the maxima until it falls apart, save some cheese and then buy something hot.

Thanks in advanceStay away from the 99-2000 S80 they are horrible try and get an S60 Of some sort. If you can find one for a good price try and get a turbo model they hold up alot better over time.

Thats the dumbest reason to put wheels on a car I have ever seen, so he worried that much about what a guy at a dealership said... Thats fuckin sad.
