View Full Version : Google Introduces... Satellite Maps!

This has been out for a few days so Im sure a few of you have already seen this.

Its a wonderful zoomable satellite image. Click "Satellite" on the top right of the page. Then you can enter your address on the top of the screen and watch your neighboorhood pop up!

Yeah, there has been satellite stuff like that for years. However I think this is the first to incorporate directions as well.

I thought they were gonna be actualy satelitte pics..there is a site that does show you the black and white imgaes from the sky.

damn thats awesome... the pic isnt live or anything it seems EXTREMELY outdated.... i just looked at my school... and there was a soccer field where the student parking lot used tobe... this was years ago... when i viewed the image on the school, I saw the soccer field... strange

Its still in the beta stages... give it time... its google for god sakes. They have enough money to launch their own satellite.

these photos r fairly recent...they have the new neighborhoods that have been going in for the past half year....much better than the one i have been using

mapquest has it too - i found my mom's house on their once - you could even see the cars in the driveway - it was awesome!

yeah i like that microsoft one, it can actually tell what is what, even though it is a little blurry. but i don't like how you can't move it freely, it goes over like 100 yeard at a time, its hard to center something and get everything you want.

that parking lot at meadowcreek is only like 2 years old...the pic was taken in '02...thats why you still see the soccer field...that soccer field sucked man it had like this prickly grass shit that would hurt if you fell on it
