alrgith, so i got a question i need to ask you guys, im debating on whether or not to sell my teg right now and get something with less miles or something newer or keep this thing and just completely redue it over time, the whole reason im thinking about doing this is because of the miles on my car, and i dont know if i want to spend the money on a knew engine althought it would be awesome to have a swap in it, i dunno...what would yall do

craig...one word...one word and ill slit your throat

thats not terrible milage. maybe buy a stock (same) motor and switch all the parts? or would it be too much trbl?

blacknightteg

no not at all, i was actually thinking maybe about just getting another ls motor or swapping an lsvtec in it, but i dunno, i gues sit just depends on which is going to make me more happy in the end

ya, if u do it wrong, you'll regret it and it will just cost u more in the long run, u just have to decide what u want, then look over your financials, and set a goal.

Halfwit

i previously had a modded prelude with 189,000 and it was fine and still pulled hard. my friend has a 96 gsr modded with 244,000 and it runs fine also, pulled as hard as my prelude did.

i dunno, i mean i want to mod it out so bad, like get shit for it but i dont know if its a wise choice, i know honda engines are usually reliable as hell but yeah

i need a whole new engine, im to scared to modd this one out cuz i dont know what could happen if i doWish i could have started with a basic older integra but my donor was an '01 GS-R w/ 37k miles...

If you just want a car to get you from point a to b during college then you might want to pick up something a little newer with a warranty...it depends on how much work you can do on it yourself. I had 285k miles on my first integra before i swapped engines..bought it with just over 200k miles then i continued to drive it another year after the swap...

If is was me...i'd pull all the suspension off, clean up everything as good as possible and put it back on all oil/greased up with all new bushings, wheel bearings, etc. Get a good set off shocks & springs or coilover dampeners that someone has laying around and you should be good for several years. As for the engine...does it smoke, burn oil, etc.? Adjust the valves, maybe a new set of rings and hone job if it's smoking, gasket kit, OEM spark plugs & OEM spark plug wires, change the oil every 3k and call it a day.

i was thinking about completely redoing my suspension cuz its not where i want it right now, so i knew that, but you think as long as its not fucking up on me and i just get the nessasarys just keep driving on this engine untill it completely dies? what about modding it do you think it would be alright?

Halfwit

Just do suspension and all that first....then when u have enough money to be comfortable buying a new engine, go for it.

yeah, i guess make my shit look good for now and then worry about the preformance later or something
