Dumbass Dealerships...

So my mother has had her porsche at the dealer. Everytime you touch the carpet, it was wet. She thought I spilled something in it, and hell, i did too! So I pay to get it detailed. Carpet still wet 2 weeks later. So we take it to the dealer we got it from. They hold it a week and tell us to pick it up. My father goes on friday and pays the dealership, and they give him the car, he checks it, its still leaking! So they give us a loaner car. SO my mother calls to check on the status of it, and tehy say "Oh, there was a problem. The porter tried to load it on the tow truck to be sent to another dealreship for repair, and it fell off the truck". The whole side of the car is supposedly crushed. So they want to fix the car and give it back to us. Im telling my mother HELL NO! I doubt that it will hold the value, and then she is paying the dealership a payment for something she isnt driving at all. The parts to fix the leak is $2k ALONE.

Anyone been in a situation like this before? Im going to the dealership in like an hour to take pictures of the damage. They promise to use factory porshce parts so retain the value, but wouldnt the fact its been wrecked be on a car fax? And would there be tell-tale signs that its been in a wrecked before? Even if they fix it its not going to have the same value since after the wreck.

I think that they are trying to say they are going to fix it to stretch out the payments being made on the car and then try to have it totalled. Lemme know what yall think

i would see what the insurance company thinks....and tell me they can fix it but they can sell it when their done and give you the same model car except not wrecked or leaking...that would only be fair if you ask me...sounds morally right

I would Have to say that to your Question Of Loss of Value yes. A car losses a certain value after any panel is replaced,painted or bondo'd. IThe only thing I can suggest is get Photo's. Dont Agree or sign anything and Contact your Lawyer about this matter. The Only Problem I see is if the Car is Bad aenough to total that your mom might be upside down and the payment would not pay off the Car. Be carefull in everything you Say or Sign. Let Me Know How Things Go for you. But In My mind that is just not right.

yeah.. talk to the gm..and explain to the the sit. they will usually listen to you. we had a similar prob with an bmw x5 that we had. transmission problems.. they fixed it the first time. and wanted to charge us the second time "under warrenty", we fought for awhile, then we decided to go to nissan, next door they were like NO.. gave us a brand new x5 on the spot with the current payments we had on the other one.

The dealership is trying to screw you. I would go take the pics and tell them they will be hearing from your lawyer on this issue, also talk to the owner or gm, tell them they will be hearing from your lawyer personally, they wont like it if they recieve a PERSONAL visit from your lawyer also. Use the scare tactics, they are in the wrong here. Porsche will want to settle with you, they dont want any bad publicity.

I wouldn't want it back. They damaged it, but fixing it will not make it the same car (unless maybe it's been in a wreck before). I guess it depends on the car really, and it's value before going there. If they fix the car in their own body shop without involving insurance it will not showup on a carfax. If they handle it thru their insurance it will. Carfax or not the car has just lost value in my eyes, and they are obligated to compensate your mother for it beyond a free repair. Deminished value, the extra time without the car, annoyance, etc.
