I was wondering if anybody new which Acura/Honda motor would be the best one to Boost. I have a '96 DX Coupe, 5-speed, and prettly much all of these swaps are or can be doe with out changing much. i thought about a GSR b18c1, with a type r head, OR B18c5 with a H22 head. Or maybe something with a K20 and a H55. i'm really not sure, i also heard something a just a plain non-vtec ls, then putting a b18c5 head on it making it a v-tec. i was wondering if anybody would know which would be better for boosting and maybe a little shot of wet nos on the side. i want the fastest possible quater mile time more than anything. so please e_mail me @

never heard of it?? i have heard of it and seen something like it done, but not myuch info on it. i mean i don't really know how strong the motor would be or if it would last that long. i mean in one way yeah, best of both worlds, lots of top end and great bottom end. but i have heard others say that it would be a bad idea. or could some one point me in the right direction to look for the best swap to boost??

Just curious, how is it the best of both worlds, maybe if it was something crazy like a h22 w/ a c5 head on it, but not how u put it. B18c5's dont have bottom end power (h22's do since they are bigger motors hence more torque) and the only way to get power out of a c5 is to rev the crap out of them, hence the c5 head which is specifically made for the kind of high revs it sees. I'd think you would just lose power by adding a h22 head to it.
Anyways, to the question.
I would say a gsr motor (b18c1) would be ur best bet to boost
On a side note: i think it would be a good idea to jsut search around, this has been answered over and over again, and before you go aiming for the fastest quarter mile times possible you need to probably learn a little more so you have a little more of an idea of what you are dealing with, oh, and be ready to spend a big chunk of change for those sub 10 sec times you might be wanting.
