what windows and what version AIM are you running...it could be a bunch of things or u just simply have a virus..most times if that happened, u can just delete the AIM program and re-install it..peice of cake. try that and see if it does the trick

then ur fine with the cable...just as long as there's no visible bare wires...one time my friend had dial up and his phone line got cut accidentally ...and there was no phone outlet anywhere close to it too so we got another phone line and cut it in half and spliced the 2 lines together and wrapped it with electrical tape and prayed that it'd work and whatta know...we got it working..haha funny, eh?
