k im getting a car from new york with a salvage title ..
in order for me to register it here in georgia what are the procedures ??

thats hwo i got my car, but it was from Jersey, i can ask the guy who i bought my car from to see, might be around teh end of the day if yu dont have an answer by then.

i beleive you have to have an insector come out and inspect the whole car.

if the car has a salvage title it must be taken to a shop that is certified and must be repaired by a professional, that means you cannot fix whatever is wrong with it yourself, then you have to get it inspected and if it passes then you will be issued a rebuilt title. Long process man, I've been there and done that, very frustrating depending on whats wrong with the car (frame damage, missing parts due to theft, etc.).

^what he said. but to add to it the shop has to be a state licensed rebuilder, not every body shop has that certification to be able to rebuild and get the vehicle inspected. of course there's an inspection fee (i believe it's ~$200).

This is the procedure:

1. Licensed state rebuilder to fix your car
2. Either bring your car to an inspection station or send out $118 for the state to send someone out to take a look at it. If it fails, its $100 each time they come out. Inspection station is like $40 a believe but you will have to leave it there for a week. It is a first come first serve basis so you will need to leave it early in the week.

we have done these kind of procedures so many times ...and haven;t fail the inspection once yet...back then we have to tow the vehicle to the inspection place after fixing it, but now all we have to do is turn in the paper work at the title office ...(1 mile away) ...and the inspector will actualy come in 3 to 7 days and inspect it on the spot.....the paper work process just takes time but doesn;t cost alot....

k everyone its a " REBUILT SALVAGE TITLE " how do i get it insured and titled here in GEORGIA car is coming from NEW YORK ..
