i like to do body work on my cars. i have done all the small things that neededto be done on my previous prelude. now on a hood of a civic. i dont really have any knowledge, but it looks good when finished maybe before/ after pics this weekend.
any one else do their own hoping itll turn out good. im only 18, still in high school.
want to learn paint next, just for smaller areas

Im 18 and have been doing body work for over a year. I enjoy working on my own car, but its my job also. I paint too. Painting can actually be phisically demanding. Holding the spray gun filled with paint over a hood or roof for a while hurts my arms. It can be fun though. Let me know if you have any questions.

u will need to prep the entire hood and blend it....becuz u can not just paint that one spot....have to sand the entire hood and blend the color to match with the entire car

im just trying to get it to look almost the same. not spending alot. just enough to get it nicer to sell it and make a lil $$
how long/trys does it take to learn how to paint, what else besides compressor, sprayer would i need if i were to try and learn? i have a old prelude hood i could practice over and over on.

thanks, what times is the shop open, and when would u be doing something like that, maybe sometime this week?. i know it takes alot of practice to paint a whole car, but i want to buy some materials/paint/sprayer ect and practice on the hood, sanding it,primer, then paint . over and over. really want to learn body work. dont know anything bout it now, have only done a couple on my lude, they were very small and it was simple body filler and sand.
