Sup IA, heres a question of interest... If you had a 98 Prelude auto with 100k a strong motor, how would you go about Supercharging it with a 7k spending limit. Lets not go into tranny swaping to manual or turbo charging, even tho both would do justice. Just a cruise machine that could use more power, Thanks...

i would change my sig to say v-tec before the meaner ppl come in here and flame you Lol
i would say go ahead and supercharge it for the instant power if you dont want to boost...

I was gonna suggest a minor motor build because of the miles

you defintly could have that done, but usually people do it when the milage gets higher, it wont hurt tho, if you got the money, knock yaself out

Just S/C it & when/if the motor blows which it shouldn't if you get a good tune, then rebuilt it.

Save money for when the Tranny blows up, cause it will. Automatic Transmissions from honda cant hold more than 50+whp before they give out. FACT.
Plus itll make it harder to tune without being able to control the revs

Yea the tranny will not last.. Wouldnt it be the same to tune due to the sport shift..Able to hold the revs and such...?

Think twice before dumping $7,000 into an automatic platform for performance reasons. Can you really justify that much money on sheer performance mods when you know that auto tranny will hinder it all?
Just a thought...

well said, but if thats what he wants then let the man do what he wants, I wouldn't dump that much cheese into a automatic.

Tranny is a very crucial part of any performance build... and an auto tranny won't be able to handle much additional power for long, nor will it be able to efficiently use the power the motor's making. Just trying to save you from making a mistake you may regret later... after all, it's not too difficult to sell your car to a teenage girl and buy a manual platform to dump that money into. =]

lol ct9a, thats been on my mind so long its funny... this is my second lude my 1st one is auto which I had back with Unique Creations both ficus green, the other was bought for my lil brother but he decided an got a hatch instead. I was gonna sell my auto since I kept the 01' manual but my girl started working. Now we're traveling an taking trips an since she doesnt drive manual, you get the idea. Anyhoo shes still spending money buying tv's, subs, mp3's, games, metal floormats so much stuff shes in love with the car. So its her idea to supercharge the car by now an college SpringBreak for our road trip. I wouldnt mind selling it I just mind having to deal with the naggin for many many months if I do
