okay fellas, i defintly hope someone can help cause my car is runnin like shit and i cant even drive it.
ok heres the details
Car: Honda Civic
engine:b16a2
problem: well my car is basically runnin like shit, im gettin no power. the CEL code threw
p0170
Fuel Trim
Malfunction.
now the details: my car will not redline over 4k rpm in first gear and each gear after that the redline is lower....when i get to a certain point, it starts to studder and i floor it and it still makes no power.
Also, (which sounds like an exhaust leak) i hear a hissin sound when i get high in the rpm when it lets me get over 4k rpm.
To add to the problems, when i push down on the gas pedal, sometimes i get no response AT ALL, i can floor the pedal and after about 10 seconds the rpm go up a little and when i let off, my idle goes damn near to 0 and my car is stugglin like hell to get on....please if anyone can help, give me some insight. Thank You in advance.
( possible solutions i've gotten, i got bad gas and i should let it go to E, fill back up and i might be good again)
( fuel injectors may be bad, O2 sensor could be the cause of this or my IACV again)

dont know about hondas or their ECU's.. but on several beat up 350z's, the computer sets a premature fuel cut (in segments of 500-1000rpms before the 6600rpm redline) this happens usually when there is a cylinder or several cylinder missfires

Its probably not the gas. I am having this same problem on a mitsu I am working on. The hissing to me sounds like you have a vac leak. Possibly bad 02. bad fpr or clogged rail etc. check your base timing. Check all sensors on intake and throttle body.

Also try another ecu too. You may have a faulty unit. I sell chipped P28 with custom maps so, pm me. You might also make sure you ignitor isn't bad in you dizzy.

well i think i have the solution....my brother's car did the exact same thing..wouldnt rev over 4k even while in N ..he has a 5 spd also...but it wouldnt go over 4k..like he'd drive and it'd just shudder on 4k and then he'll siwtch to 2nd and its a rough shift also during this...we figured out the problem....he found out that oen of his elecritity thing, i'm not sure which one...fell out of the bracket..all u have to do, in my best opinion is find that unplugged circuit and plug it back up...once he found out that it wasn't plugged up, we plugged it up and it was fine after that...it was located behind the motor on the left side facing away from the car...i suggest going to look really close and see if u have any wires that aren't plugged up. that's my best advice. lemme know. thanks

i forgot i put this thread up, i posted in the acura/honda section too.
found my problem.
had a clogged cat convertor, it caused so much back pressure it caused my timing to jump, so i just raplced my timing and ran new custom exhaust pipping

naah pimpin, thats you.
with the advice you gave me , i went to my friends shop, put my car on the lift and took the cat off ( after i replaced the timing belt cause the problem was still there) seen it was real real real clogged ( must have been from teh previous owner running 87 gas, from what my mechanic said) and i have been running 89 ( the one before octane, i think its 89) so now i'll be running octane boost from here on out Lol
