Well light 'em up, let's make it a memorable ride.

In all seriousness though, I hope people can laugh and make jokes at my expense when I die. Life is meant to be lived, make it enjoyable and make it memorable, I don't want people standing around talking about how good of a life I lived, I want people to talk about how they wished they could have enjoyed life as much as I did. We can all crack jokes about the rice fest that is F&F but the fact is most of us have seem them all, and enjoyed them, and if I had to hazard a guess I'd bet he had a pretty good time making them. Condolences to his family and friends, I know it's a tough time for them, but its abundantly clear that he was loved, and loved what he did, as an actor and as a man.

I never understood why death is such a taboo topic, especially for a culture that is predominantly religious and believes that death is the gate to another life.

Me personally, i'd rather die from flipping my motorcycle off the side of a mountain than in a hospital bed old and sick. I hope my friends do burn outs at my funeral and toast shots to my memory. We're all gonna die.... no need to be babies about it.

If i had to put my finger on it...... the gap between this forum and some of the forums that appear to have infinite staying power, is information. Some of the nissan and rx7 forums are libraries of information about car building.

This forum has a good number of people that have a great deal of knowledge about car building, but unfortunately, most people dont view this forum as a place to come ask those type of questions. This is viewed more of a hangout spot / local event planner.

The problem with social network forums like this one is that they've basically been killed off by Facebook, etc.

Only the real tight-knit local forums have survived, and when IA had it's issues, it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Not to mention, a lot of forum 'regulars' from the early 2000's when the scene was huge have either grown up and moved on, or just keep close connections with their good friends from the old days and don't bother with the BS that the new crowd has brought in.

At least that's my take on it.

(It's a Pontiac, BTW)

But yeah, I have no love for the stance crowd. At all. Stretching tires beyond what the drifters do is unsafe and hideous. I'm ok with rim tuck, as long as it doesn't take -5 degrees of camber to get there. I had 275's stuffed into my rear fenders with no pulling. It's amazing what can be done when you actually know how to properly pick the offset for your car.

I looked for the vents that go with the aero bumper for like 3 years and never found them. It emotionally scarred me for life.

Prepare yourself for this...

I knew a local guy that had the Aero bumper for YEARS on his flat black SOHC hatch. Wouldn't come off of it, so I just kept in touch with him via PM's to remind him that I wanted to be first in line if he ever sold it. He finally ended up moving to Korea, and a few weeks before he did, he sent me a message and asked if I wanted to trade. I got a mint condition Aero bumper, uncut, all the vents in trade for my standard K's bumper, pignose lip and $100.

Steal of the damn century, he knew it, and was completely cool with it.

PS, is it bad I knew yours was an Aero front from that back end/side shot? I got too involved with these cars, for real.

I like and appreciate all cars to a certain extent. A 1980's model Buick with a 8 inch lift to fit 30+ inch chrome wheels, IMO, is retarded. A civic with a built motor, but a gaudy bodykit is retarded. A 240 with extreme negative camber and is nothing more than a parking lot queen is retarded. I appreciate cars if they are practical for use. Not one that is only good for sitting still in a parking spot to be looked at. I miss the days of people coming out to ride around a meet new people, people running their cars at the strip or at meets no matter if their top 1.4 mile speed is a 50mph. The way I saw it was hey, at least they are driving their cars and not just like damn man my shit is faster than yours, but I don't run my car, just my mouth. Shit gets old fast. And today, most people, kids, in the car scene, have no idea about their car other than cutting the springs, throwing cheap ass wheels and putting a crazy camber on it and thinking they are the shit and better than everyone else. I know there has always been those types in the car scene, but at least back in the day most people would try to back up what they talked.
