Polyphony Digital being asshats and taking 3 years to finish a game. they think that theres 70 million PS3 consoles, so making a game for them = more sales. Rather than making GT6 for PS4 and pushing to that console. They were prob mid development on GT6 when PS4 was announced, so they didnt want to stop and writing for the new architecture

I think Sony made a mistake with this console, pretty much "rebooting" the Playstation franchise and starting from scratch. This "could" make a lot of people consider the Xbox One, since they would have to re-buy their old titles anyway and start from scratch if they want to play them. If ever there was a reason to consider the Xbox, now is the time.

However, from a gamer's perspective, the PS4 is the top machine to buy. The way I see it:
PS4: For gamers
PS3: For occasional gamers and movie watchers (bluray, 3D)

Until they incorporate some of the media components, I won't be in a rush to buy the PS4.

Plus I would wait until they work out the bugs with the Blue Light of Death...

With any new hardware, things will change over time. You have to remember theres MILLIONS of PS3 consoles out there, it will take time to seamlessly integrate everything over. I suspect there will be PS3 games available for DL to PS4 soon, computer integration WILL HAPPEN, just will take time.

The Blue Light of Death is way overblown, less than .04% of consoles. 4000/1,000,000 is a pretty amazing failure rate

Yea don't get me wrong, I have the PS3 and I am rooting for a success. I hope Sony gets it right and incorporates more "media" into the PS4. The main reason I bought a PS3 was for the Bluray capability, and some gaming. It is an awesome Bluray player and when they did the 3D update even more so. So much so, that I own 3 right now. You actually feel you spent your money on an awesome all-in-one device.

With the PS4, I am still feeling like I pay $400 for a game player....$500 if I want an extra controller and the camera and $550 if I want to play online......that gets quite expensive when you consider you can probably get a good entry level gaming PC for that price. And Think about it: Other than the power, a new PS3 slim will cost you what, $200 bucks? And as of now, can do so much more than the PS4 at more than double the price!! And you get free online gaming....

PS2 to PS3 was a revelation. Better graphics, Blu Ray, connectivity. PS3 to PS4, not so much. I was hoping 4K upscaling for movies...but...lol....yea right....

I'm curious as to how much GTA:V and GT6 have hurt sales for the new platforms. I can't speak for everyone, but as a casual gamer, those two games alone just gave my PS3 and 360 another year or two of life.

Not to mention FM5 sucks dick. Fuck that series. Never buying another one of their games again until they quit all this "200 cars at launch and later buy 9 DLC packs with 17 lame cars and 2 cool ones"
