Tein coilovers

Question for anyone familiar with Tein coilovers. Just ordered my Super Street dampers for my GSR with pillow ball uppers. Although I havent really taken a close look at them, I noticed one thing though. It appears as though the height adjustment also tampers with spring preload. Is this accurate? Here is a pic for reference. Its not the best pic but its all I have at the moment.

As long as you're not going for "stance brah" and slamming it, or a professional race car driver... I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference in preload if you lower it an inch more on autox days.

Yeah I called Tein directly and they said it does directly affect preload. I may break down and have them revalved and have custom spring rates done with taxes.

With most jdm coilovers you adjust height / droop with the lower mounts.
Do they have an adjuster on the lower mount?

You adjust spring preload with the sleeves.

Tein is a Japanese company but it is not JDM. I am not quite following what you are saying here. With my coilovers, you adjust ride height by lowering the spring perches. In doing so, it directly affects the spring preload. There are other coilover systems on the market that separate ride height and spring preload. Unfortunately, mine are not like that.

Not unusual at all. My ST (KW variant 1's) are the same but they do have a helper spring for keeping the spring from moving around.
