KEEP IN MIND THAT HORSEPOWER WEIGHT RATIO AND ALSO STREET VS TRACK AND LOW END POWER VS HIGHWAY POWER
ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL ARE STOCK BUT WITH A $5,000 BUDGET WHICH WOULD HAVE A BETTER ET
PLEASE DONT HATE ON ANY OF THESE CARS THEY ALL HAVE MAD POTENTAL

There are a ton of cheap mods out there for Hondas so from a financial perspective, your best choice would be a Honda product. However, I personally would put Honda on the bottom of my list just because I am not a front wheel drive fan. Heck a stock Evo or STI would be much better and more enjoyable than a heavily modded Honda in my opinion.

maybe so, but in order to get any decent numbers out of a b or a k series, you'd use most of that 5g's on the boost setup alone, which leaves very little for suspension.

Stock I would choose the srt(Best bang for the buck), Modified(400+whp), I would choose the evo. AWD will handle the power a lot better.

Vteckidd
01-24-2006, 02:22 PM
$5000+ev0=fast highway car and dragstrip car

AWD ownz j00. only reason why i didnt pick the SRT4. the SRT4 with $5000 in mods prob would make around 400-450whp. and last longer than the evo, but an EVO with that much money would def pay for a turbo, manifold, exhaust, cams, clutch. it would be faster cause of the AWD.

the STIs are nice cars, but i prefer the tried and true 4g motor over the scooby.

ne way. all seriousness aside. i'd rather push a lexus gs bubble. i like that car a whole lot. and not the new one either. i'll take the millenium version(2000).

there are a lot more things to consider.

If it was a car to drive daily probably a evo, they have grate lines and are a overall nice car. However i have been told they are complete dicks about the warranty.

Also if its a car for you then why do ask this question. non of us on here are going to help pay for the car or the mods so you need to get what you want and what you like, also check your insurance before you buy one. You might have insurance shock!

I'd have to say other, just because I'd rather use the money for one of those cars and save and buy a *used* supra, 300ZX, mitsu GTO, or an FD RX-7. with $5K, you could make a pretty rad setup, especially with the supra. If I'm not allowed to buy used, I'd probably go with the Evo, just because the RS is soo much cheaper than the STi...

For $5,000... get a Meth kit, GT35R kit, and tuning.

Make 500whp on stock block/transmission all day, everyday. Can't say the same for Evos. Not to mention you get a much nicer interior, and sound system.

Sorry, I can't give up on the RX-7 Twin Turbo. I made an easy 270whp in mine for about 2G's and it weighs 2750lbs RWD. For the extra $3K I could make it hit 340+whp and run low 12's and it would handle real well and you could still get the tail out real nicely.

downpipe, mid-pipe, catback, 1600cc secondary injectors, Supra fuel pump, Apexi' Power FC ecu, Intake filters, bigger sidemount intercooler, and a manual boost controller.

A new 06 Evo with $5K in mods can run mid to high 11's with the right combination of parts.

i'd take a civic but these arent in very well put categories.

Civic isnt even close to the same as an EVO, STI or SRT4.

stock vs stock all have over 200 hp, normal civic has 100.

"" '' '' all have upgraded suspension, as the normal civic has tremendous body roll and weak everything.

pretty much a no contest thing against the civics teg, rsx..

and all are turboed, the rest are not.

stupid poll, stupid thread.

ill take like a '95 eclipse/talon tsi. the 4g63 is still in there, and they pull on evos. faster, sleeker, nicer. older, cheaper insurance. so less money spent on bullshit means more reinvested into the car. i had to explain since i voted other...

hmm. I seemed to have chosen the unpopular duck in this poll. I like the SRT-4 because dodge seemed to have built a vehicle exactly like I would've built it. Cheap, nasty and fast. The srt-4 is sort of like taking a sledgehammer to a gun fight. Its a one trick pony and I love it. They're cheap, they're nasty, they're shitty and the build quailty is so-so, but I love it.

i love my integra to death, but if someone came up to me and asked would your rather have this new evo, new sti, 05 srt4, or an 01 integra and 5k to play with; i would take the evo. the integra is the best bang for the buck, you can have a 12 second car easily for 8k dollars (including the car cost), while the evo has a price tag of 4x that amount. but if they were offered to me like that, the evo would be my choice.

i chose honda for technology, and craftsmanship.

but all in all if i were building the car, i would personally have a first gen miata with a nissan ca18det with cams, disco potato, lsd, full suspension work, yadda yadda yadda.

small light weight car, turbocharged engine with iron block and aluminum head, proven engine (derived from the skyline motors, basically a 4 cyl rb), RWD. just sounds like a great combo to me.

my pick is the EVO.. but i'm driving a integra ... why .. to make story short.. i've began saving money long time ago.. since i was 16-17 this was like 1997-99 making $4.50hr someshit like that.. and when the US finally bring the lancers over they shipped over a weak ass mofo POS... sport rally lancer.. and i thought my life long dream was only a dream and that they'll never send over the Mitsubishi EVO GSR .... but gradually through time they did send it over.. And by that time i already made my integra to wat it is 2day.. a BEAST hahahaa

I like the old STI that is not available in the US. Same thing goes for the EVO. The other factor I would not take a EVO is beside the MR, too many things are missing from the JDM EVO. I hate SRT4. They are only fast in the straight line and that is just stupid.

The range for Civic, Integra, and RSX is just too wide. Too many trims for them. So no answer for them.

I love to roll in 240sx the most. I like the fact that the S13 does not look too old as a 17 year design.

Then what if you get in a real race? One with turns and you have to stop sometimes?

I love torque... but I need to stop, rev match, heel/toe... actualy driving skill ;)

A little tin can with possibly the single worst interior quality I have ever seen. Plus you get Mitsibushi's stellar reliability record... or wait.

You would be suprised with the handling of a 99-04 cobra with suspension work. Its no M3, but then again, what is? As far as brakes go, anyone can get a BBK from stoptech, willwood, brembo, rotora, ect...

I'm partial to the Sti just because I think Subaru is a far better company than Mitsu and the sound. I know the Evo is easier to make fast and a better track car but I can't get over how many horrible owners/ricers choose to own an evo or make it their first manual car..thus stalling it even when they have a two step etc.

EVO FTWW!!!! Gotta pick the car that I see and feel every single day!! Cmon, its a 4door, can fit up to 6 people total maximum(Done it b4) & it still pulls. Easily tunable, 16g's & 20turbos are cheap if you f** up yours. With $5k in mods; possibilities are in the low 11's or faster. Handles gr8t in power and handling! Gets madd props and rep everywhere it goes... Heck, you can just spend about under $2k and run low 12's, high 11's and spend the rest on whatevers..
