So as most of you already know, Captain Obvious and I swapped cars. I needed something with a backseat, he needed the most awesome car known to exist thus far in humanity's feeble presence on this planet.

Some of you may know, some of you may not... I am riddled with ADD. Detailing a car has never been my strong suit, never wanted it to be. But this car demanded that something be done.

Before.
(Looks better in this pic. Was rather oxidized and pink IRL)

Day 1:
Needed a "Personal" touch to start making it my own.
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day1003_zpsa62f8803.jpg

Also started to clean the headlights. A lot more work needs to be done, but it's much better than before. Gonna need a couple more passes.
(Driver side clean, passenger not)
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day1002_zpsbdf38172.jpg

Both cleaned... Big 'ole red "H" emblem removed, but the glue remains... (You're welcome QD)
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day1004_zps09784fa8.jpg

Day 2:

Side skirts had to go... Black Widows had made them their home... LIYFGeaylffawyawrgvayuyf

Kick panels in... Found at a Pull-a-Part for $4 dollars for both.
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2017_zpsd360a79f.jpg
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2018_zps24e67564.jpg
http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2016_zps853e89d5.jpg

Spent all day cleaning by washing, clay bar... -ing? and rubbing compound. Still need to polish and wax... But as I am running out of daylight and care, that will have to be another day. (Haven't done the front bumper, as it needs paint so what's the point?)

But you can see the areas not done...

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2003_zpsd9352f70.jpg

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2006_zps51e9a45a.jpg

Here you can really tell the shine from the rest of the car to the front bumper...

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2009_zpsf9f7f210.jpg

Some of the wiring has been fixed, more remains to be done. But the broken center radiator support is top of the list for now.

Those rims i showed you would have looked good on this......Also isnt Morgan gonna want to drive for sure now

Echonova
06-16-2013, 07:50 PM
... I never saw the rims.

But alas, no matter. Still need to get rid of the two stacks of tires in garage anyway before I could do anything anyway.

Added JDM plate from off the garage wall. (hood is popped in the pics. It's not bad fender gap)

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Day2015_zps7a91bdf7.jpg

Looking good dude. I'm anxious to see if the paint and headlights stay shining like that. I had the car looking that good about a year ago and everything faded back. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Lolol. I was going to mention that when I saw the pics and then saw you state that it was gone, lolol. I've always liked his car as it was just a normal looking Integra with a good drop on it. I don't really care for the side marker lights as they look APC-ish, but since holes are already drilled, I wouldn't remove them.

Overall, and as I've even told CO in the past, I like it for its simple look.

Car looks a lot better after you cleaned it up.Meh, still has a long way to go. But I had a good starting point.

what did you do with the old side skirts and rear valance??The side skirts decided they didn't like removal and jumped off the 5th street bridge into the canal... Never to be seen again (Don't look at the trash can in the pic). The rear valances I still have.

He gave them to me to use on my CVCC.

Duh....^^^ Uhhhh... This.

'Erebody knows I likes dem shaved. So that's probably what will happen.

So... Hood latch is fixed for good.

However.

The yellow "cover" on the drivers side OEM fog-light fell off inside the housing. No biggie (I thought to myself), I'll remove the headlight, crack it open (wetsand and polish the inside of the lens while I'm in there) and see if I can't fix it myself before ordering any new parts...

Four zipties held the front bumper on.... Four.

I mean... I can overlook a lot of stuff. Because I realize shit happens because we get impatient or cash gets low... Or both at the same damn time, I get it.

We've all been there.

I mean, I can overlook the fog-lights wired with speaker wire. Easy to fix even for someone as electrically challenged as me.

But seriously... Four zipties...

C'mon son.

The basics are there (and done right). Just seems like a rush to get it done at the end with whatever was laying around the house.

Nuts and bolts ain't that damn expensive. Don't buy cigarettes for a day and you can get an econ-o-pack from Advance that would have done the job for your next 5 cars.

Well, I was upset at the thought of 4 thin pieces of plastic kept me from running over my own bumper all the way across I-16... LOL

But whatever. It is what it is and it's fixed now. In no way am I disappointed in the trade. Nor am I trying to give that impression.

In a weird sort of way it gives me something to do. So I'm happy.

Ok man. I just wanted to make sure. Because I tried my hardest to be up front with everything I could think of that the car needed. It is a good car, I just did not have the time to make it what it could be. I'm really glad your giving it the TLC it desperately needed.

Bye old... Cut Eibach springs/KYB shocks on coilover sleeves (never seen blue Eibach springs before...)

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j402/Echonova2/Cookout71313047_zps38891df5.jpg

All in all, there is still a lot more to be done. But first I need to wash it ASAP because me, DU3S3S and Scotsman have been rubbing our hot sweaty bodies all over it the past couple weekends. But the things left to do... While numerous, are small things that can be done whenever and usually in less than a day.
