Well some asshat already asked if they were caused by global warming, so a call to regulate them is surely soon to follow.

The meteorite that hit Russia hit a zinc plant. That's not a zinc plant

CNN reports that one of the metorites hit a lake.
Russian meteor blast injures at least 1,000 people, authorities say - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/15/world/europe/russia-meteor-shower)

"The national space agency, Roscosmos, said scientists believed one meteoroid had entered the atmosphere, where it burned and disintegrated into fragments.
The resulting meteorites are believed to be scattered across three regions of Russia, one of them Chelyabinsk, as well as neighboring Kazakhstan, the news agency said.
One large chunk was discovered in a lake in the Chelyabinsk region, RIA Novosti cited the Chelyabinsk governor as saying."

Are you saying that they are wrong and that you know better? I did not know that you were in Chelyabinsk.

BTW - NASA says that it broke up onto about 4700 metorites. Three impact sites have been found. Two were in an area near Chebarkul Lake and the other is near the town of Zlatoust and the border between Bashkiria and Chelyabinsk Oblast.

I want to pick up something new so bad it hurts. I just cant decide what i want. Do i want a Tommy gun for the cool factor? Do I want an M1 for a little more practicality? Do I want an M4 because of availability?

The only thing I know for sure is I want a rifle that fires a pistol round.

Pistol rounds are cheaper, easier to find, higher velocity at short range. Oh, and they come in hallow points.

You must not drive much. 35 miles on a charge wouldnt get me to and from work in a day without a single stop. If I have to stop at the store, yea, not even close. If they can increase battery life out to over 100 miles in a real life scenario AND keep the price under 25k, then we can talk. A car that needs recharged after a to and from trip to the mailbox is absolutely useless in the US. With a 40k price tag, its a complete waste of money.

Until they get a battery that can make 300 miles on a single charge, and a way to quickly change the battery out (as fast as pumping in a tank of gas), full electrics just aren't any competition for the combustion engine. Right now, if you want to drive your car, you should be able to do 300 miles at least, and then refuel and keep going. You can't do that with an electric.

I mean if you go outside of its battery span it does have a regular gas engine.

I agree, but I dont think you need 300. I think 100-150 is plenty. Either way, if you own one of these you are pretty much required to own a second vehicle because of the size limitations. As long as you can get back and forth to work and do your running around with a single charge they will have their place if they can get the price down to something reasonable.

Oh, and you are pretty much required to own a house with a garage so you have a secure place to charge it thats out of the elements.

chevy volt was a monumental failure. That technology is just not good enough to be relevant to people. Costs too much, doesn't go far enough on a charge, takes too long to charge, not to mention how long those batteries will last and cost of ownership of such a vehicle over the course of having it say...for 100K miles.

Im glad I wasnt in Russia for that meteorite though, it's a horrible tragedy for those who got affected by it. Damn Obama.

Most people I directly spoke to about them, owned one, or were looking to buy were quite excited and fans of the Volt, so it does appeal to SOME people.

The meteor was sent by Obama, only one man has the power of the universe and that's Obama.
