Was the blur added in post processing? Dude, you need to play with my 1.8 lens one day. It basically does that on it's own.

Yes i added the blur. I also have a 50mm 1.8 but the problem you run into is by using a low f-stop the depth of field is so low that your camera is going to focus on the front bumper. So like 1 foot to half the car max is going to be in focus. I was using a high f-stop to get the whole car and then just added the blur so that your eye focuses on the car itself. I dont like to take pictures of cars in a parking lot and have like 4 cars be in focus when your trying to showcase just one.

Was a great show...over 800-1000 cars...

The artificial DOF seems a bit forced and fakish to me. Sounds like some others may have liked it, but I'd tone it down.

no i agree with you. I did it on purpose. I used a bad method to do it too. oh well im learning and they should look better next time.
