Shelby America just modifies cars. So to get a Super Snake you have to buy a GT500 first then ship it too them and pay lots of money to have them modify it.

Agree 100%. The Mustang is not a sports car. Doesnt matter how much hp you throw at it. They can handle well for what they are but to compare them to a 2 seat sports car is a little out there. Good thing I could care less about "The Ring" times :goodjob:

With a CAI, TB and tune It picked up over 60rwhp. Doesnt take much to open these cars up. Ford has been leaving a lot on the table for you to play with since the 2003 Cobra.

This but there will definitely be a chip on somebody's shoulder for having what I assume to be 100 or more horsepower than the new C7Z variants. Either I find it to be impressive and looks good too. In no way would I call it a POS... maybe the interior :)

It's not just the seating arrangement that makes it a non-direct competitor with the Corvettes. It competes more with the Camaro (GM dropped the ball on the ZL1 570~hp), and the Challenger. Ever heard of the term "pony" car or "muscle" car? These are the only ones less. The Corvette is more than just horsepower, straight line, and blowing the tires off.

I'm not knocking any of the muscle cars, they were built with a purpose and can be made to handle quite nicely.

Corvette does not even have that horsepower, they never have and probably never will. With the new Mustang horsepower ratings do you think they are competing with the Lamborghini, or Ferrari? Quit being a tool bag and realize there are different markets.

I've raced a lot of mustangs. One got me sent to jail for 60 days. Pro street fox body vs my z. Ticket 146-40.... Mustang didn't get a ticket because he was so far behind.

I work 80 hrs a week I can't build a car in one weekend. It's really nice yard art though.

I'm not afraid of loosing to a mustang. My car only has a gt2871r it's limited you know. The most anyone has ever made with one is 440whp. I don't mind meeting up at commerce for fun and having a track day with other members but I'm not going to start betting money. I'm not some experience drag racer like my family is.

What transmission were you using when you supposedly had this 350z TT? I can already tell you that we went through 2 brand new stock transmissions when we were at 440 rwhp on a 350z that was a feature in a major magazine. We had to detune to 400 to get a transmission to stay together. Most of the TT kits back then were good for about 380rwhp.
You weren't beating 750+rwhp cars with that.

I'm telling you that you did not have a 350z twin turbo making more than 400 rwhp. You wouldn't have made it a month without breaking the transmission.
You didn't beat a Pro Street Mustang witha 350z making 400 or less rwhp. That didn't happen and is never going to happen.
Your 350z tt was not even close to running in the 10's.

The 09-12's are much better from what I understand.
When we did it, there were no upgrades available for the transmissions, and the turbo kits were weaker than they are now.
He's claiming that he did this back years ago when he was 18, but doesn't even have a photo of the car.

Z1 Motorsports - Stock with APS TT 574rwhp and 489tq at 14psi MS109 gas - and that's years later than when he claimed he was beating pro street cars. E36slide wan't running around on anything but pump gas also.

I don't drag guy so 400whp on the tranny as a daily wasn't all to bad since it lasted me the whole month. I'm sure thy didn't know it had a weak tranny when being built since my dad got it new. For all I know the guy lied about it being a "pro street" fox body it was decently fast but not compared to that z. For all I know my z didn't have a stock trans. Again I didn't do any of the work and wasn't into cars like I am now to even ask what or how it was done. My main focus was basketball at the time. I won't argue about it I know why ie owned believe me or not I could care less.

How exactly do you know that the Z was faster? Did you take it to the track, or are you relying on a calibrated butt dyno?

I've driven a lot of fast cars, and I can tell you that the 350z tt that we built "felt" a lot faster than my Mustang, but in reality, it wasn't as fast at the track as my Mustang is. Not even close. My FD felt faster than the 350Z, but it wasn't faster when on the track - the Z was much quicker. Turbo cars almost always feel faster than they are, but to me, they are a lot more fun also - and that makes it worth it.
Your SR should be a lot of fun, and around 350rwhp is just about a perfect balance in that gutted chassis - to me. I don't know why you had to go and mess with it.

Guy I was asking y'all mustang bros why they created a 850hp mustang if they already have a car to compete with lt1 Camaro. Gm is smart they made a mildly affordable car with good power. After wasting 5 min of my life by reading this entire thread I have made some assumptions and want to clear some things up ..lol


1. We all know that just because this RUSTANG...only kidding ..mustang has all this power doesnt mean it was built to compete w/anything...Its just a high HP pony car....Ford has proven they can build good track cars as the Boss has lapped the M3 and stayed right with it if not beat it in a mag comparo recently....so they have the tech to build a good drag/road car...this one may not be it ...this just may be their attempt to flex some HP muscle...we will see when we see some figures from it.

2. Why do people HATE certain cars...never understood that....If your a gearhead and love cars...then why not love ALL cars...I have had hondas, subarus, nissans, chevys, dodges...love them all and they all did different things well...WHY HATE ?...you can be PRO something but why just HATE....never makes sense to me...A clean whip is a clean WHIP..leave it at that. I constantly get dirty looks from import guys who see me in my loud , clean vette.....WHY ?...when I had my import I didnt look at domestic that way...and why do Domestic owners call all imports RICE ?....again no need...RESPECT THE GAME HOMIE !

3. Lets not even start on 350z's.....they are a great car but are not build for modifying ..at least not out of the box...they hook like Sh%it....they take a TON of money to make power....motors are kinda weak and trannys are glass when making over 400whp...now HR and 3.7 motors are a bit better..and in fact make bette power buy 06 and below were weak sauce ! That being said...even if they did make ver 400whp....they still wouldnt perform well on a track....or other vehicles....never could get them to run right ahhaahah...at least I didnt and many of my friends at my350z.com..would agree....but enough money in anything and well you got a winner !! lol
