Considering the church our own president has attended, i doubt this will be very high on his list of priorities.

You mean St. John's Episcopal, down the street from the White House? The same church every other president of the US has attended since the beginning of time?

And as much as you and I both want to wipe WBC off the map. All this petition will do will elicit a response from the WH Social Media Director on what kind of speech is protected by the first amendment. The best thing you can do is ignore them into obscurity. All they are is a group of people who twist scripture in order to get a reaction out of people. It's working.

Agreed, Obama is all about some freedom of speech.

I've attended many churches and done so for a large portion of my life. Proceed with your next question.

I attend a Catholic Church out here in Marietta sometimes. The father is a good guy, nice to talk to, he married my wife and I. In the wake of the elementary school shooting, the father went on a rant, not surprisingly, about how we've taken god out of schools and how there should be more religion in the classroom. A lot of people were visibly emotionally moved by this.
Do you think that because I attend this church, that I agree with this priests assessment on religion in schools?

Only if you continue to go to that church.

If he continues to preach that same message for the next decade and you continue to go there, yes. There's also a pretty big contrast between being someone who sits in a church who may or may not agree with the message being delivered and the relationship between Obama and Wright. I'm sure Wright is a good bit more radical than your preacher also.
I've spent a good portion of my life attending church, i dont believe in God period... much less any specific message that could be delivered. This isnt the case with Obama.... all signs, all clues, and all evidence draw the same picture about Obama's personal beliefs. One thing i've learned in my life, whether you tell someone the truth or a lie.... they usually go on and believe what they want to believe anyway. That sentiment couldnt be any more true than when it's applied to Obama supporters.

When there was a big issue surrounding the Catholic Church and birth control about a year ago, the same priest ranted about his version of the separation of church and state and how it was unconstitutional to make contraceptives available to women. I've been plenty of times since then.
Do you think because I attend that church that I agree with his assessment of the constitutionality of optional contraceptives?

Why do you even bother arguing with a close minded moron? It goes nowhere.

Yes, since you continue to go to the church and absorb the same message. Otherwise why would you go? You already know his stance.
and just in case you forgot: you don't NEED to go to church to practice your religious beliefs. ;). If I didn't agree with one pastor's stance on something, I would go to another one. Plenty of churches around. Or would just pray at home.

This is the only viable answer right here. As hard as it probably is, if people would just ignore them. If the media would just stop reporting on their actions. If everyone would just carry on as if these people didn't exist.
But it'll never happen. People will always pay them attention.

Do you think I go to church to practice my religious beliefs? I'm an atheist.
You have a lot to learn. :)
