So, a few of you saw the thread about my CB7. Finished the blue top H23A swap, drove it for a while, and then traded it to a buddy of mine for his DA Integra. While the CB7 was an awesome car with plenty of potential, I wanted a platform I knew more about and he needed a four door car since he now has a little boy so we helped each other out.

Here is my old CB7:
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/IMG_20120729_121646.jpg

Here is the new toy:
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/20120925_173000.jpg

It needs some work but nothing that wouldn't be replaced eventually anyways. Right now, I am just doing maintenance things and fixing a few issues to keep it running good for a little while longer. Current mods are F/F Type 1 coilovers, Innovative 95A motor mounts, and a #1 brand axleback exhaust on it. It had 16" red Rota GT3s which I despise with a passion so I fixed that today :D

In with the new:
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/20121211_161838.jpg

Immediate future mods will be a '93 front bumper, JDM one piece headlamps which are on the way now, new paint, and a few suspension pieces.

Distant future mods will be a B20 turbo mated to a JDM ITR transmission with LSD, 16" Mugen MR5s, and whatever else I don't pick up in the meantime.

Let me know what you think. Just for the record, there will be no stance here. Car will be kept subtle and clean.

Original black car getting a new black paint job, GSR blades, and a B20 vtec turbo... sounds like a perfect plan for a DA.

Acceleration. The car will see track time eventually. Other option is a JDM B16 with LSD and keep it cable actuated.

No VTEC will be added. Keeping non-VTEC.

In the first pic, it was still wet from when I just washed it right after bringing it home. As for the headlights, I bought them from a guy on g2ic.com, paid for them on the Dec 1st, and he still hasn't shipped them. They are supposedly getting put in the mail this week.

why would you pull the housing apart to buff it?????? ive never ever ever ever ever ever heard of anyone doing that.

I've removed the housing to change something about the inside of the light, but not to clean it.

use plastiX polish and a orbital, they will look like glass.

Bacon
12-30-2012, 12:57 PM
Well, I need to do something with them. That very thin protective layer is starting to come off. When I opened the box, I found one of the housings had a broken corner. The piece is in the box but has to be glued back on and they were missing a connector.

that sucks. Best way to remove the housing is to set the light in the oven on low heat for a little. Glue is a lot more friendly when it's warm. A hair drier doesnt give the same effect of warming the entire seal at the same time. When the glue is warm, you can gently separate it without breaking anything.

Bacon
12-30-2012, 05:49 PM
Dont really see the need to separate them. I do see the need to buff out the lens though but I dont know shit about doing any of that.

Even you would be pissed if you saw these and the condition they came in. Were definitely not mint as described.

Yeah it is straight. Just a couple of things need to be replaced like the passenger fender and the taillight garnish. Once those are replaced and I finish up the headlights, it will go in for paint. Gonna finish the outside first and then the inside.

This depresses me immensely. That green GSR was money!

However, you have a cherry ass motor and some bomb ass wheels. If you have a spare ride, this is a primo opportunity to put some fresh color on the LS. Turn this negative into a positive!

I am having James at Mainstream fab that busted pipe so I will be back on the road in no time.

A progress pic so far though. I have the complete front suspension off to be cleaned up and have Energy Suspension bushings put in. Deleted all A/C lines, all power steering components, and have just about completed the ABS delete the correct way. Cruise control was deleted as well and got my rear Innovative 95A mount in place. Just have to fab up two line extensions. Here is one pic so far:

Similar kinda thing happend to my accord. I had a 3 pc header and a downpipe with no flex pipe. Made a right turn and punched it, the torque broke a mount and snapped the pipe, then the bottom of the header wiggled itself loose and fell out. Lol. Driving around basically open header is not fun. Lol

So, I have a collection of parts waiting to go on. This is a slow process but hopefully the new shell will be on the road by July. Here is a pic of my parts collection

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/IMG_20130604_171501_zpsbdf02f1a.jpg

So far, I have my Energy Suspension master bushing set, front sway bar bushings, Password JDM three point front bar, Innovate wideband, BWR extended studs, Innovative 95A mounts and I cleaned and repainted my calipers and front sway bar. I have an Innovative 60A front mount on the way as well as Skunk2 front Pro Series camber kits. At the end of June, I will be ordering a new windsheild, Function Form Two.5 coilovers with 14kg front/12kg rear springs, Rear four point Password JDM strut bar, and an ASR rear brace with sway bar. Probably some others things as well.

This is also what has been eating up some money:

Energy Suspension bushings and new ball joints. Still have to clean them up real good. Its not easy replacing those bushings but having bought a hydraulic press, it makes it a little easier.

So, everything got moved over to the new house and work started. Got the front end tore apart and ready for the new parts. Swapping a lot of parts around I forgot that the front suspension on the track car was from an EF ( bolted on so I could move it ) so I need to source two front forks. Also the bushings on the front lower control arms were giving me hell so that kinda put a halt on the front. Time to move on to the back end. Being that the car spent time in Virginia, a lot of the suspension rusted together. I have to completely redo the rear suspension so that will take some extra time as well. For now, here are a few pics:

Here is a shot of the rear prior to disassembly:

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/IMG_20130820_135318_zps09719404.jpg

All of this is rusted together and needs to be replaced:

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/IMG_20130820_142832_zps99c09fc2.jpg

The track car build is delayed a little. Ran into some personal issues that need to be addressed first. We did however add a third Integra to our collection

I am considering having my Tein coilovers revalved and fitted for custom spring rates but not to sure. Anyone ever done that?

I am considering having my Tein coilovers revalved and fitted for custom spring rates but not to sure. Anyone ever done that?I would drive on what you have, figure out if you even need it done... Before doing it before the car ever sees a mile of road. You might decide on different rates based on feel or driving style then whatever figure "looks" good on a calculator.

Yeah thats what I am thinking. However in an interesting turn of events her car is going to ride on my Tein coilovers so the SSRs will not scrub when they go on this evening.

Not much has changed since I last updated this thread. In the next couple of weeks, I am doing a tear down on my B16 and replacing a bunch of gaskets and shit. Will also be changing my intake manifold and header with new pieces. Once I reassemble the motor, the track car will be assembled and on the road. I'll post pics as I progress through everything.

Today was the last day of driving the daily so teardown begins. Started with the interior and threw it all in the track car. The track car will see daily use for a while and I plan to track with full interior so until it goes full track duty, I will maintain my creature comforts with audio as well. Here are a couple of pics:

Purchased a new Skunk2 intake manifold and 70mm throttle body, new race header, new ARP head studs, new Mishimoto Civic radiator, and a few other items. Now to order new maintenance items like head gasket and water pump and I can start teardown and assembly of the motor. I'll post pics as parts come in.

The pics may be big so I apologize in advance. I got the car to my new house and started little by little to prep it to hit the road. Most of that prep work was cleaning and removing unnecessary things. The car sat for a few months until I got some money in.

This is the resting spot for the track car until it hits the road.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j152/xangelsxlullabyx/Car%20pics/20140209_001033_zpsgaopzpot.jpg (http://s79.photobucket.com/user/xangelsxlullabyx/media/Car%20pics/20140209_001033_zpsgaopzpot.jpg.html)

I pulled some interior pieces and the front and rear seats from my wrecked one and threw them in the track car. I also took this opportunity to give the inside a good cleaning. Since the car will see road use for the next couple of years, I decided to use the full interior and I am also throwing in an audio system.

Here is the front suspension completely bolted up. If anyone is wondering, that is a Cusco front lower tie bar and an Innovative Traction system.

This is the last pic I took of my swap right before I pulled it from the wrecked car. My plans with getting a 1.8L block fell through so I am sticking with the 1.6L motor for now.

Skunk2 intake manifold and 70mm throttle body and a Mishimoto slim fan mount kit.

My Innovative front motor mount bracket will be in tomorrow. I also need to consider either relocating my IAT sensor or change my fuel rail. With the stock fuel pressure regulator being in the center of the fuel rail, it's sitting directly on top of the IAT sensor to the point that I can't plug it in. I am also having to fabricate brackets for the Civic radiator and have to find someone to make me a 2.75" donut gasket flange for the cat side of the exhaust.
