Speaking of that, we were at Steele at the drag strip and there was a guy there that completely destroyed his rear end in his CTS-V

Rear ends in these cars are ticking time bombs, its only a mater of time before it goes bye bye. It's and independent rear end that just wasn't designed for the long term or consistent hammering most owners put them through.

I was told the rear ends were the same units off of Z06. Kinda surprising if they are.

Yet another abandended subdivision. Nice car. Even though it sounds like a mustang with a flowmaster exhaust lol.

He'll no this is a Getrag unit that is used in the base Model CTS with different gear and carrier inside

I know the feeling bro, them super sports have really good reviews and a lot of Porsche guys run them. Defiantly a good tire for track duty

Not to me lol.
Sounds like a 5.7 with a Corsa exhaust.

So you're saying GM stuck a supercharged V8 in a Cadillac, then used pretty much the same rear end as their base V6?

This body style has either a N/A LS6 or LS2. They've fixed this problem and many others on the LS9 based V2.

I thought they had a 3.6L v6 too?

Correct, the base model CTS for this year range had a 3.6l...It is the same design, just a different carrier/gear. Same size unit used in the Pontiac Solstice, despite the V's near 4000lbs curb weight lol. The weight and wheel hop destroys the diff.
