Save up for some 17" steelies, do beauty rings and center caps with the rim body matched, bags, ???, profit.
Cool truck on the reals. Not big on the wheels, but not like they're killin' it, either.

Those wheels, from here, look great. Period correct, too. I would definitely not go to 17's. I'd keep this truck more period than try to modernize it with bigger wheels.

17" is a tad big imo, I'd like to get original style chrome rally wheels. 15x10 all around[/IMG]
Perfect!

You're right about it being period correct, they've been on it since late 80s. Same with the stickers and interior. It use to have a Muncie 4 speed in it, but when the 'cruise' faze came along dad put in the turbo 400. Ohhh he regrets it now lol

17" on a beetle. The same rim but more tire (and staggered) would be money on that truck since the body and wheel wells are so big. Same look, just more proportional. Completely different from something like this truck running 20s, which still don't look all that large.

I like lots of tire. I do like that look, dont get me wrong.. Nothing wrong with. I just like lots of sidewall, and fatty letters. Lots of people go bigger to do away with the drum brakes. To put big disc brakes on, but driving with the drum brakes are fun lol. Sounds odd.. But, they are different. You have to prepare to stop, miles away. Gives it some character.

ONLY way 17's would fit good on this truck would be if you slammed it.
But nothing wrong with 15x10's ;)

Keep the wheels that are on it, I think it looks good like that, don't listen to these ricers! lol

About to start collecting parts for a 3 speed.. We have a few layin around, its not a 4 speed but it'll still be funn. Hope to have it in by summer. Of course a few things first.. The turbo 400 is fun, and I do like it. Just, this truck needs a clutch again!

Coworker of mine has a 4 speed 327 in a similar truck with bags... super badass combo. Autos can be cool, but I agree this one needs a man pedal.
KyleG

That does sound like a mean combo! And yeah, the auto with the stall is cool. But, a straight shift will make life scarier. When we do it we'll probably put in a lot bigger cam

When I doubt, do a burnout!
The motor now has close to fifty miles.. Pulls so strong.. Loving it! Soo fun to drive

Truck is awesome, i absolutely love C10s!
to me, the step side trucks look a lot better left old school looking. If i changed wheels, i wouldnt deviate too far away from the current style wheel.
If you had a straight bed..... id be saying slam it on some 19s.

Thats a cool 67! And I agree with the stepside thing. They just don't look right lowered. Maybe not quite 19s though lol

About to start at some body work.. At the moment I may be able save the passenger door. The driver side door is pretty much done. I need a good bit of cab work, which I'm not quite sure on how to do. If i ever find a job I plan to replace the whole grille, this one is in bad shape. New bumpers too. Other than that, everything is alright for now. Just needs the rust sanded down, and primer

If you ever need machine shop work done, go to Classic Automotive Machine shop In Cartersville. My dads used the guy for 20 something years.

awesome truck. Lots of character.... all the scratches are in the perfect places, it's a work of art as it sits. Nothing more american than a c10.

Thanks, and I've really considered patching what needs patched and just drive it. Its comfortable, and I don't have to worry about it getting dented or anything.
Next few things that may happen within a year :
Tires
Eaton posi unit
Little body work
Weatherstripping

Made it back from our little 50 mile drive fine.. Motor didn't miss a beat and was pulling strong! Don't think I'll risk the tires on main roads unless I have too, it was kinda sketchy lol I was honestly surprised we made it back after letting my dad drive back lol He gets excited. Motor has about 100 miles on it now, hasn't gave us any true problems. We were probably around 12-14 mpg. Which is not bad for how its geared with the cam and all

Careful on those tires. I had a blow out from dry rotted tires with plenty of tread left. Polish up those valve covers and she'll be looking great!
KyleG

No joke! These tires make me nervous anywhere I go, should be getting some fresh ones kinda soon. I normally dont go far at all, just like a 6 mile round trip. And I am considering just getting a new dress up kit for the motor. These valve covers are to common

is it just me or are the runners on those headers tiny?
btw polished wheel looks good. looks like a lot of work restoring that thing. If it was me i would leave it the way it is, a truck is supposed to have a little bit of rust and a few dents. that's what makes it a truck.

Pretty sure you don't want your primaries on a small block in a truck too large... that'd start taking away from the low end.

I've tried to explain this a dozen times over to guys who buy victor intakes and long tube headers for their 5.0s with B cams. It's a man thing.... "bigger is better"

New tranny rear seal, diff fluid good, rear brakes adjusted, rear wheels polished, tranny fluid good, full tank of premium. Running as good as ever! Soo fun to drive. Just can't hardly drive it, due to the tires..

I can't talk. I put a TSP MS3 237/242 .603/.609 112 lsa cam in my 5.3 liter ls motor. A cam most people put in their 5.7 and larger displacement motors, lol.

My Dads had a long day.. But made mine at the same time. When he got home from work I got him to drive the truck when we went to take off the trash. When he got in, he started searching around with his left foot for a clutch... lol Its not had a clutch in 20 years... Talk about a long day.......
