This is a multi-option poll so you can choose more than one!
Would the members of IA like to take a non car related trip together? Like go on a cruise? It would be nice to just chill wit some members, party a bit, eat, drink, get picked on and thrown overboard. I had been thinking about it but we should take some kind of IA trip. I can also talk to a friend and get us a group discount. Mods memebers what do u think?

Carnival cruise is my sugestion. has its elegant nights but also is casual. everyone can have fun and the food is great. also they visit some nice areas. i vote for the cozumel, jamaica, grand cayman trip. or whatever places other think are fun.

My dads a cruise travel agent and he can hook you up on deals, we just went on one for thanksgiving and it was $1300 for 3 ppl aboard the royal caribbean voyager of the seas (formerly the biggest cruise ship in the world, now the title belongs to Freedom of the Seas). If any of you are serious about it, let me know and ill get you in contact with him.
He can work out a really good deal if its a group so the more people that go the cheaper the price would most likely be.

My mom just went on voyager of the seas.. she says she doesnt like itIt was pretty cool, but its an old ship now, 6 years to be exact, so there are some faults with it. Some of the service attendents weren't the greatest but oh well. I've been on explorer of the seas and that ship was pretty much flawless, great food and service! Also been on Princess, Celebrity, and Carnival. Out of the 4 lines i've been one i'd say celebrity had the best food :).

You're pretty much only going to be in your room to sleep at night, change clothes, shower, and get ready before dinner or whatnot, otherwise you won't be in the room, so why get a more expensive one?

yeah the veranda deck is for like honeymooners and old people. get on the main deck. its cheaper and u wont ever use your room except for sleeping, showering, and getting some.

Btw for group discounts there either needs to be 16 people or 8 cabins and then there can be a discount, but that would vary on whether or not the ship sells out quick and if its peak season or not etc.

I've been on about 5 different cruises with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian.
I like the Carnival atmosphere the best with Royal Caribbean hitting a close second. Carnival is going to appeal to alot more people on this board, IMO. I went on the Destiny when it first came out and was the largest ship a while back, but I haven't kept up to date with ships recently. I believe RC has taken the largest ship award as of late.
Carnival is also going to be better suited to people's budgets as well. We can definietly caravan to the port as well, which should save a bit of money.
Keep in mind you're gunna have to budget tipping, on shore excursions, shopping, alcohol, etc. I forget what it amounted to, but there definitely alot of people to tip, waiter, busboy, maitre'd, cleaning lady, etc. Excursions book up pretty quickly too if everybody wants to get on the same excursion, probably be best to decide beforehand.
Then you have to get an updated passport, and small shit like that.
Hope this come through.

I've got plans and everything laid out already, Im just looking for the best deal. I am find that it is a 4 hour drive to Mobile from Atlanta.
Carnival Cruise Lines - Costa Maya and Cozumel - a day each
April 1-6 $509 per person including all fees for Window room.
$429 per person for inside room - no view.
This is the best deal I found. We could fly/drive to Tampa, but in the end, it is more expensive for the trip. The actual cruise is cheaper though.
Im looking at around a 4 hour drive to Mobile. Park at the port. Load ship..have fun..come back to only around a 4 hour trip back to atlanta.
I'm still looking though.
BTW..its our 7 year anniversary, so I want to make it a surprise to Annie. I want to book now and just go ahead and pay for it and be done with it.
