As most of you know I and my wife are expecting a baby girl this week. My wife is from Florida so to hear this in the News hit her and me very hard.
I see no reason and have never thought of drinking a single thing and then driving. This brought a tear to my eye to read then saw her Facebook photos of the baby. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/08/tiffany-ann-woodham-pregnant-killed-drunk-driver_n_2092507.html?1352404671&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmaing5%7Cdl3%7Csec1_lnk1%26pLid%3D232157
The guy struck and killed the girl and her baby doing 80mph drunk and said after he was arrested..

He was pissed and just upset about the damage to his truck.

I hope they fry his ass !!!

Tiffany Ann Woodham called her mother Sunday night to tell her the contractions had started, meaning the baby girl she had named Novalee might arrive sooner than expected (http://www.baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/content/news/articles/bn9/2012/11/5/pregnant_woman_baby_.html), Baynews 9 reported.
Minutes later, Woodham and her unborn daughter were dead, struck in their minivan by a suspected drunk driver at a Winter Haven, Fla., intersection.
"I am so upset about it I can't even cry," her brother, Cody Breton, told the station. "Every day I would wake up and rub my sister's stomach and tell her how much I loved her."
On Wednesday, the family was seeking to raise more than $6,000 (http://dailyridge.com/lake-wales/friends-family-raising-money-to-pay-funeral-oftiffany-woodham-unborn-baby-killed-by-drunk-driver-sunday/) for funeral costs and did not have insurance, the Daily Ridge reported. They handed out t-shirts with the words "Don’t Drink & Drive" on the front and, on the back, "Because It Took Their Lives" with a photo of Tiffany.
"Tiffany would do anything for anybody," Teresa Hidle, Woodham's mother, told the news outlet. "She didn’t care who it was or what the situation, she would always help someone out."
Woodham, 19, from Bartow, Fla., was in the left backseat of the van that had stopped at a red light around 10 p.m. (http://www.theledger.com/article/20121105/NEWS/121109628?tc=ar), police said, according to The Ledger.
Thirty-seven-year-old Thomas Jeremy Dick, driving a pickup track, slammed into the back of the van at more than 80 miles an hour as the light turned green. Woodham died as she was being taken to the hospital. Doctors attempted an emergency C-section to save Novalee, who was originally due Nov. 14, but she didn't make it.
Dick had been seen swerving off the road before the collision, said police, who measured his blood alcohol at almost twice the legal limit. Dick faces vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter and other charges.
"It infuriates us because we have a 19-year-old young lady dead and her baby's dead because someone cares so little about life that they'll drink and drive (http://www.wtsp.com/news/topstories/article/281166/250/Mother-unborn-baby-killed-in-DUI-crash)," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told 10 News. (See above video.)
Police said Dick showed little remorse and was more concerned about the condition of his truck, according to the station.
Zachary D. Rowles, Woodham's 22-year-old fiancee and father of their unborn child, suffered non-life threatening injures, as did the driver of the van, Tawnya T. White. But a fourth passenger, Pamela D. Cheverier, was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

it will be murder of the 2nd degree. I doubt they will charge him with man slaughter given he killed a pregnant women. it wont be a 1st degree murder charge ie: death penalty, life in prison. but pretty sure he will get 2nd degree murder which will make him end up in prison for a min 10 years

These are the stories i think about every time i hear someone complain about getting a DUI. All those "i could have made it home" "i was almost home" stories.... This is the result when you dont make it home.

Even though you may be willing to take a gamble with your own life and try to drive home after drinking, im sure this pregnant woman would not have taken a .1% chance of risking her child's life, but she didnt have that choice, you made it for her.

the fact that he's not sorry about his actions makes this even 1000x worse on top of how horrible that he killed these people...he deserves a heavy sentence for his actions and insensitivity

Don't get me started on the (suspected) DUI drivers I have called in and followed for 10+ miles and not a cop in sight even with play-by-play directions. Next time I call in a (suspected) DUI...I'll tell the operator that if an officer isn't there in a few minutes, I'll take matters into my own hands and it won't be pretty.

I hate that kind of shit. Those types of people are so selfish and could care less about the ones around them. He deserves whatever he gets and more IMO.

Ive done that twice so far the first one was pulled over and ran from the cops on foot he was on crack cocaine. The second car was about 5 years ago I called in a drunk elderly man who just side swiped a NEW off the lot Cadillac. This Cadillac also had a just off duty probation officer in front of him and restrained the man while I called the cops. The old man in the Cadillac was wanting to kick ass and yelling about how he just bought the car that morning. As we watched them pull the man from the car he was so drunk he passed out.

sad thing is, people will see this and still drink and drive. everyone now days are selfish and if they dont care about their own life, they wont others. he should get way worse than they give him.
