just bought my new veloster turbo. base model turbo version. since its the turbo version all the cool things come stock, blue tooth, big audio touch screen, etc. Ive been debating about getting one for a while but needed to find a roomate to help share the bills before I can buy one, and then BAM, parents get divorced and my mom wants to move in. now I saved enough money to buy this one. has plenty of poer for only being a 1.6 liter but being super light and me being super light it makes up for it big time. whats your thoughts

the regular veloseter is piss ass slow but they upped their game on this one. 50% more power and torque. Its no new GTI but then again a brand new loaded gti costs over 30 g's and a well equipped is very high 20's. picked this one up for 24000.

Not a fan. With proper negotiating skills, you can buy a 2013 Mustang GT for 26k. Jussayin'... 12s for 26k. If you wanted a small, "cute" car that is made for economy, you found a good one.

I'm sure this is a generalization. I was looking a few months ago and any nicely equipped gt 5.0 was still in the 20s.

None the less. OP... Enjoy your veloster raptor. You should look around and see if anyone has had success with manual boost controllers on that car :D

if you're worried about scrounging up money to fill up your tank, then you shouldnt be buying a NEW car anyway....same goes with resale value. The first thing I think when I'm buying a new car ISNT "oh man, I wont be able to resell this thing for anything near what I paid for it) Shouldnt worry so much about semantics, man, and just enjoy it.

2013 5.0s MSRP at my dealership for 26-28 ha you can get one for 24, 25 moderately equipped (Recaros or Brembos, not both though :()

As long as you enjoy the car, OP, that's what matters.

there is no way that you can get a new mustang gt automatic for low to mid 20's. I went to ford to check out the ST and also looked at the mustangs, a gt was mid 30's and a 5.0 was a little over 40. you can always haggle with a dealer but not by that much.

a) a gt is a 5.0
b) my coworker just bought a brand new gt with some options throwin in for 28,700 OTD. No one is buying those cars right now+year end deals=get a good deal. Depending on a few factors, you CAN haggle big time.

don't know much about mustangs but the ones with the v8 cost over 30gs and even the nice looking v6 versions were upper 20's. this was at cherokee ford in alpharetta. ohh well. I am happy with the hyundai, its pretty quick and a lot of fun around turns. the styling is a bit crazy but not like pontiac aztec crazy

Automatics do sell for more than manuals, though, as there are WAY less of them, and the transmission is more expensive.

Lady at my work picked up one of these about 2 months ago. Neat little car but I had high expectations for it. Not a bad little car overall.

Agree on the GT>ST>Veloster argument. The ST is a super fun little car with gobs of torque. With just a tune they turn into one nasty little grocery getter :goodjob:

those are all stickshifts. I need an automatic which adds 1500 to it. plus a mustang gt is at best 27-28. then add tax, tag and title and it becomes right at 30 or a little more. I got mine for walk out 24k. plus I don't like big muscle cars. I prefer, small better handling cars. call it cute as you may. but as you drive your mustang past 500 other mustangs on your way home. I will be passing 1-3 other veloster turbos.

That's fine. Different strokes different folks. Enjoy your Veloster turbo.

Oh, and your prices are suggesting you pay sticker. Who does that? :D You're supposed to leave the dealership, and 10 minutes later the salesman goes "damn I got screwed"

Amen. I drove to Cincinnati from Augusta to get my GL450. It saved me $5,000 on a certified MB. I make 500 miles my normal limit. This was 479 ;) Driving through the mountains was amazing. The most fun road trip ever. You would be crazy/stupid/underinformed to deny bying a car farther away when there is so much money to be saved.

So, which one is it? If your foot is in both world and you go back and forth, no biggie- we've all been there. However, your Hyundai doesn't come close in handling to the Mustang GT. Let's make sure you understand that one up front. Yours pulls a 0.82 on the skidpad. That is nothing to brag about at all. I've pulled over .90 on mine with silent tires (it has a built in lateral accelleration app). Keep in mind the GT STOCK tied the M3 in a track event in a road test, and this was prior to the improvements of the 2013 GT. Jussayin...

Agree on the GT>ST>Veloster argument.

Argument? How is this even an argument? The dude posted pics of a car HE purchased and folks are turning this into a "shoulda got this" and "shoulda got that" thread when I'm pretty sure not one person in this thread (aside from the OP) paid a penny for the car. Who cares what you would have gotten or what you think he should have gotten? You didn't get it and neither did he.
