Sup guys. First time Acura owner here so pardon my ignorance (coming from an S4). Just picked up an 02 TL base with 120k on the odo for $3500. Car drove great first 2 days I had it, but now lo-and-behold the transmission has started to slip :cry:
Does anyone know a reputable shop around Atlanta to rebuild the trans (that wont charge an arm and a leg)?
Is it fiscally smarter idea to rebuild or swap in a used trans. What are some of the cost benefits of swapping vs rebuilding if I plan on keeping the car for another 3-4 years?
Also digging a bit it seems like some folks here are putting used Accord V6 trans into these cars. Doesn't the Accord trans have the same build quality as the original trans? Or have the newer model Accord trans really been improved that much and more reliable? Also can any transmission shop do the swap or does it require some additional parts/ modifications/ special knowledge to make it work?
