I have a 94 integra ls and im having bogging issues with it. while im driving it will start to bog out. I ran my engine codes and it pulled a code 17 which i know is a VSS code and its also pulling a code 43 I have replaced the plugs wires distributor cap and rotor button and also replaced the fuel filter and it is still doing it and progressivly getting worse. Can someone help me as to telling me what is wrong with it? I was told it could be the O2 sensor but the integras have 2. Any sorta advice would be greatly appreciated.

A 94 Integra should have only 1 oxygen sensor. They changed to 2 when the cars went OBD2.

If I remember correctly when I threw the CEL #43 on my EG8 I replaced the fuel filter & still didn't fix it, turned out to be my o2 sensor which I had the same issue with it bogging down & shutting off, so I fixed it & it was fine, no more codes & no more bogging & got my gas mileage back....speaking of which, your losing mileage aren't you homie?

(He also checked his injectors by removing the fuel rail & turning the key over, just not starting to see if he had any leaking injectors & no problem there, just needed a good cleaning)

That being said, help my buddy out here & "ATL*GSR", just be patient, someone will help you!

Did not know that lol think that could be what's throwing the code?

Yeah I forgot yours was OBD1 buddy, my bad.... I'm about 90% sure its a bad o2 sensor, I was thinking of my DC since its OBD2 & has 2 o2 sensors, lol....

Code 17 is fuel injector system, not vss. You probably have a bad fuel injector.

O2 sensor will not cause a Bog....lol

Remove the injectors and clean the little filter in the top of each, also change the fuel filter..

A bad o2 will cause the car to bog down because its not reading the correct amount of exhaust coming from downpipe

Did you change injector? They get lazy if they have sat any amount of time.. Also what fuel pressure are you running?

My b I read the list wrong on phearable.

Found this on google when searching for:
What will a bad o2 sensor do on my integra?!?!?!: here's 1 answer another integra enthusiats to another

Question:
(Okay So no matter what I rev to, it will missfire pretty badly. I have check engine codes for o2 sensor, heater & iac valve. I thought the Iac would only make it idle rough. so would the 02 sensor be it?
It's a 95 acura integra)

Answer:
(The O2 sensor is a fuel management device. It either enriches the mixture or leans it according to milliseconds of on time or off time of the fuel injectors. A miss fire is just that, a cylinder that has not performed correctly. Either lack of spark, fuel, air or compression will cause a miss fire. If all of these are correct, then you suspect timing as in jumped timing or bad cam or crank angle sensors. Start with those first four basics and see where it takes you. 95% of miss fires are found in that area. Good Luck)

No I haven't changed the injector and I'm not sure on the fuel pressure I haven't tesred it. Before I did the plugs and wires I pulled the #4 cylinder plug out and it was soaked in gas, then when I put the new plug in its not soaked as bad but still looks like its getting a little wet, which the plugs shouldent have gas left on them at all should they?

Okay, so your saying I'm lying about having the same exact bogging issue in my 92 civic I had & I replaced the o2 sensor, off went the CEL light, no more bogging & got my gas mileage back???? He doesn't have anyway to check his fuel pressure!!!!

I told you that the gas from your #4 spark plug can lead into the injector being bad on that cylinder.... It shouldn't be wet though which tells me your injector is over taken your spark which is leading to your hesitation at start up its basically being flooded, that sound right "1civic"?

Now, you need to find out if that injector is getting stuck, or if the spark is just weak.. ;)

Some ECU's don't like limp mode.. Once that light comes on it will go into Limp and be Open Loop.. Some run like total shit, others still run just get shitty gas mileage..

But not calling you a lair..lol

Well, went out there to see what was wrong & went out there with intentions on hoping to help fix this issue.... Turns out after running a conpression check that he needs a block or rebuild his own block or just replace the motor since his compression #'s come out very very very bad.... #1- 61, #2- 60, #3- 60, #4- 61....

Yeah it definately does, now whether or not if we did the compression check right, idk but he is at honda now getting a diagnostic check done to it, where they have everything!

NVM on him taking it to Honda, he decided to change out the Injector to see but I haven't heard from him, we also noticed he has gas in his oil.... No biggy if the actual injector fixes it because all he has to do to get the gas out of the oil is do another fresh oil change & run it 50-60 miles & complete the process 2 more times from what another buddy told him who had the same issue in his 240....

Don't really see the humor in that but alright. I changed the injector and the car is running better but is still acting up but not near as much or as bad, I also changed the oil again. Since I replaced the injector the plug is not getting wet anymore but I still think I'm going to have to replace the fuel pressure regulator and O2 sensor and I'm going to replace the other 3 injectors as well!

But before I do all that I may take it to Honda just to get them to do a full diagnostics on it.

As for the compression, have it checked again... Be sure the car is in time also!

Do u know of a good shop other than a Honda dealership where I can get it looked at?

Okay, so he's still having an issue with the spiratic bogg & power loss! Here's what's been replaced so far:

Fuel Filter
Spark Plugs/Wire
Dizzy Cap/Rotor Button
Replaced a Leaking Injector
o2 Sensor

Now today after replacing his o2 sensor earlier in the week he pulls his CEL Code just to see if anything else is messed up like a bad sensor, ect. He's again throwing code #43 (fuel supply system)... Any suggestions would be helpful.

I told him to think about replacing the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator & other 3 injectors & have cprtyler run a compression check for him since he's a certified tech that specializes in Hondas!

^^^^thanks for the help dude,,,,it turned out to be a cut fuel pump wire under the ass of the rear seat,,,,correctly respliced it and plugged it in and it fired right up runs like a sewing machine now i love it thanks again
