Would you guys prefer cut oem springs to ride on?

lol i wouldn't want any cut springs to begin with. the PO of my car had the car dropped 2" from stock height, on cut springs and it was bouncy as fuck. you could at least get some cheap raceland coils before you cut your springs.

Here comes me with my usual opinion on this subject. I've been riding on cut and/or heated springs for over 25 years. With those years of experience, I've learned that, for a more comfortable ride, heating is the way to go. My car now sits on cut springs. This is pretty due to the fact that there aren't any options to lower my car available right now. But in order to cut or heat your springs, you need to know what you were doing. Fortunately for me, the guy that I learned from taught me well.

This being said, if you don't want to go any lower than any after market options, then just go the after market option route.

I've cut springs on some cars, mainly E30s, they ride just as smooth as stock with cut springs but if you have a Civic or something, $50 eBay coilovers > cut springs.

Maybe for the street but how would they act on a track? Do they have enough acknowledge to be able to compare them to a proper setup?

Of course they wouldn't be any good on track, far too soft. I've had say Vogtlands and cut springs on E30s, felt fairly similar, I would only do it if you wanted a lower car without any real performance benefit.

That's another reason I liked heated springs. When I ran my Neon in SCCA, I was class champion in 1999 and 2000 with heated factory springs. Handled and ran great through all the courses.
