It's been an ongoing project for some time now but I'm finally starting to make some forward progress.

Still working on getting the m112 mocked up. This is the same blower off a lightning or 03-04 cobra with a different inlet.

So I added a "spacer" and I think it just might work offsetting it over the rear head. Fitting it under the hood would be out the question, but I think I may be ok with that. I figure by time the manifold is made it will be about this tall anyway.

Here was the clearance with the blower sittting on the valve covers, which was my original plan to sit it as low as possible.

I'm going to get another manifold to hack up and use the flanges for the supercharger. I'm thinking of something like this, take a stock manifold and cut it down to and mount a plate on top. That way I wouldn't have to modify the rails and all.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/Yankee4life91/DSC_0442-1-1.jpg

Looking for a spare manifold at the moment. Once that's found I can cut it up and go from there. Stay tuned for updates!

This is something different, i like it a lot!

Got a friend in PR with one but in hatchback, with that engine and individual throttle body that sounds killer and runs in the mid 10's on the 1/4 mile ALL MOTOR!

By the way if i was you i would start from scratch with the intake manifold instead of hacking that one to fit it, the difference in price is not that significant!

seems like a lot of work and money compared to a turbo.turboing this car wouldn't be like turboing a d series. I'd have to fabricate even more because of space. Front and rear turbo manifolds, downpipe, crossmember, all has to be modified or made custom for it to work. If this was a probe or mx6 it would be much easier. I've looked into pros and cons of both setups a few times. Lol

I haven't ruled that out, I was leaning towards using the stock runners just because the flanges were already port matched to my heads.

Oval or Square port? I've got one of each I won't be using. I'm doing the ZE swap in an Escort LX-E.

I need a square port so either ZE or milli will work. Pm me If your willing to part with it.

That's awesome man. Good to see more people playing with the kl platform.

na playa.... unlike your groovy supercharger there.... a turbo goes wherever the fuck you want it to go. You aint got to have turbo manifolds to have a turbo.

My p/s pump is gutted so its acting as a tensioner right now. Was going to try to use it for that, but that plan might change since the pump is like a 3 rib belt. Lol

yeah a 3rib belt aint going to cut it, cobra sometimes have a issue with belt slipping with the large belt.

Small update. My manifold came in the mail. Normally it would be a sin to cut this up, but there is a crack in one of the runners so it's all good lol. Now I just need to get it to the shop where it will be getting fabbed. I also found a walbro 255 for cheap so that will be going in soon. Now I'm on the hunt for some Millenia S injectors to drop in these rails.

I've been looking into SC set ups lately. When making a manifold, besides matching the ports, what do you have to incorporate? I assume there are oil passages, anything else?

Car's current position. Going to redo quite a few things while I have it out.

Are you going to run into adaptor plate/fuel rail clearance issues?

Glad to see you getting back to working on it. I cringed everytime I saw the wiring, so get it cleaned up!!

Nah. It will be high enough to clear the rails. I'll have to show you one day. It's much easier to understand in person with a bare manifold.

Check out the heat marks on my pressure plate. Flywheel looks just as bad. lol

Louis, you ever look into the toyota sc setup, or the mercedes kompressor, that a few folks have done with the bp. Either way i know you will make it happen! A custom manifold is worse case scenario it seems.

If its not to late id highly recommend a deatsch werks fuel pump over the walboro!

Joe I haven't bought a pump yet so ill look into that one. I forgot all about them lol. I thought about using the AC location like everyone does with the clutched m62, but I just don't think I would have the space for mounting down there, let alone piping. If I had the mx6 bay size it would be a no brainer.

Are you going to run the intercooler under it? If so dont forget about the pump, hoses and a heat exchanger.

Also port that bad boy before its all said and done. Might as well since its out of the car already.

Looks to be an Eaton off a Lightning. The Cobra Eaton has the inlet on the side not the top.

Definitely going to port it, but as far as running the midplate and all I was going to try to spray meth to keep heat down instead. Think that alone would be enough? Only reason is because of space concerns.

I dont know. They dont called them HEATons for nothing hahaha.I saw that lol. I did a little reading on the stang and lightning forums and there are a few people who swap them onto 2v 4.6L and such and they don't run an IC. They don't run much boost though. Majority were 8-11psi. Most notice quite a difference in power on a hot day though.

So it's possible, just not 100% efficient.

Looked for some eaton swaps without running an intercooler and I couldnt find any. I did find a good handful of people explaining why it would be a terrible idea though. I know my old eaton setup ran plenty hot with just a pulley. I even have an upgraded heat exchanger. I cant imagine what IATs you would have without running the stock intercooler under it.

Whats the most boost you would run with non cooled supercharger? - MustangForums.com (http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-1996-2004-modular-mustang/634406-whats-the-most-boost-you-would-run-with-non-cooled-supercharger.html)

Just one thread. Mixed reviews in that one. Some would some wouldn't. I might just have to suck it up and see what I can do. lol

I ran a non intercooled centrifugal vortech setup on my 2000 Mustang GT and you can tell when it starts to get hot thats for sure. Being that its an Eaton and despite what that one guy is claiming on that website. I wouldnt run it non intercooled. If you plan on pushing any boost through it that will be worth a damn that Eaton will be glowing red.

Update. Took apart the harness and cleaned it. Plan on taking a lot of wires out of it I don't need.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/Yankee4life91/2012-12-13224113.jpg

Harness nice and tidy! All egr and most all probe related stuff removed.

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/Yankee4life91/2012-12-16170042.jpg

The way I put it back together it actually made some of the leads longer so I can tuck more of the main harness behind the motor.

Next up is completely redoing the charging harness. It has many breaks and splices in it which I think is causing it to burn up over and over again. That and the fact that the KL alternator puts out more amps than a B6 alt.

Should have fixed this a long time ago..

Still got it. Slow going right now. Life getting in the way as usual.

DON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MY DIRTY INTERIOR! lolol

Spare block is torn down. Cylinder walls are in pretty good shape for sitting for so long. Should work just fine.

I finally got around to making some brackets up to put my seat in using my stock rails. I took some steel plating and drilled holes to widen the seat track on one side. Nothing fancy, just want it to work.

Picked them up from Lowes. They don't have a massive selection, but for small jobs like this they do just fine. Cheap too. I think I paid $8 for the sheet.
