So we are going to be removing a bunch of the older moderators who aren't as involved in the site/cars scene as much to make room for some new faces. Of course moderators are not paid positions, but you get free IA Swag and tickets to events when we have them.

Most importantly you have to be a car enthusiast. Please list what other skills you have that might be helpful when deciding. Also put your location in your email/message.

We would prefer people that we know or have a vouch from someone we know IRL (which is a lot of ppl on here) but let us know what you got.

I just got home from speaking to a real estate attorney, getting some things done. I owned 4 civics in the past and I just grew bored of them. I got a good deal on the benz without doing research on it. Knowing what I know about the car now, trust me, I would of gotten an RSX instead. No I don't go clubbing or pop bottles because its a waste of my time. Of course Echonova has a nice house and wheels, I love that truck, but lets be real, your probably old enough to be my dad. Being a mod isn't about being buddies, kissing ass, or trying to prove an ego. I've only met a few of the other mods on the site. What it is about is trying to keep the forum clean, people in-check (in the appropriate forums), and generally trying to make the entire experience as good as possible for everyone. Do all the mods get this right all of the time.. no. But overall I think most of them are pretty fair.

Also nobody is expected to moderate 24/7. Most of us have very busy lives outside IA but still find time to come on here and try and keep an eye on things. The idea is if you've got enough good leaders then there should be plenty of schedule overlap and a good eye on the forums.

I live farther away than the rest of the mods, so the whole "friends" thing can go out the window. I like to think of them as frienemys :P But just because your a mod doesnt mean you have to stay on the forum 24/7, thats why there are quite a few mods, that way different ones are on at different times of the day.
