Population controls. The world has too many people to sustain itself so we need to whittle that number down some. Hell, Chicago alone is trying to top Europe in murders this year.

Hmm population control am I the only one who thinks there's a cure for aid's? But the government is denying it due to the fact that people want to live so there going to pay for the med's? and its a form of population control. population control is a iffy subject.

My last visit to New Orleans I stopped by my uncles house and his friend is a detective for the NOPD. Seems like every news cast they are talking about another killing. I asked him how does he keep up with all of the killings n stuff. He simply replied we cant... All we can do is let them kill each other off its there way of population control.

Anyone have any year to year statistics? Maybe it has just suddenly become more prevalent on the news.
I could see a motive out there for shootings to be played up in the media- especially as of recently.

I used to think about this a lot. As time goes on, more and more violence erupts and killings abound. But I was reminded that this has always been going on. It's just that now we have multiple world wide news channels and the internet to bring every single incident to our living rooms and dens. So now it seems that it's just happening more and more. I do believe it is happening more often as the hard times we are in, but it's nothing that hasn't been around for years. Later, QD.

Here are some statistics that I found:

United States Crime Rates 1960 - 2010 (http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm)

You can scroll to the bottom of that page for Ga specifically.

If anything...

Gun Crimes happens almost everyday... but you never see news on someone using a gun for self defense, or survival...

What you are seeing is biased media.

I do know that you only hear a small portion of what happens in Atlanta. My brother, who is an APD officer, says what you hear on the news is about 20% of what all really happens.

Like I said, Chicago is more dangerous than Asscrackistan.

On a side note, my mom is close to retirement and I have been trying hard to get her to move down here when she does. The Southside is just too crazy and I always worry about her being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The southside of what? Clayton County? Not really that bad other than getting your car stolen.

Yea. People down here that complain about crime dont know how good they have it. While crime down here can be bad at times, it is far more confined to certain areas compared to Chicago. Be smart about the areas you go to and you are relatively safe.

8000 home invasions a year in the US, 60% of all rapes happen during home invasion....

But the media just wants to paint a picture of a gun crazy america with no need for self defense.

So if someone is on your property i.e trying to steal your car. Do i have the right to defend my property with my firearm? Same with the house?

Inside the house, yes. You can reasonably assume you are in danger. Stealing your car, no. You have a right to defend yourself, not so much your property.

This is correct, but I am sure you can get away with it, if a thief is breaking into your car(W/ object in hand and facing you) You can pop a few rounds in his limbs. You do have the right to defend your self if you feel threatened, and wounding someone only provides you the story of self-defense.

Wounding someone provides them ground to sue the fuck out of you. Shoot to kill; not to wound.

How could someone sue you if...

1 They are threatening you with a weapon
2 Trespassing
3 Attempting to Rob You

You said stealing your car, not threatening you. Deadly force requires a crime against a person, not property. Your home, if occupied, is the exception.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything at any given time so it's a moot point. GA S.Y.G law protects you from civil court if you are defending yourself against a forceable felony.

1: This MIGHT be a forceable felony.
2: NOT a forceable felony. If you shoot you go to jail.
3: Depending on circumstance it must be a forceable felony before you can defend yourself.

Please read up on the law, too many people assume and find themselves in trouble.
