Exposing my ignorance here but, meh. Why does one "need" or "should" lower a car to make it better at drifting? I get the concepts of height v. weight, distribution, center of gravity, etc but how does it really break down? Does the lowest car with the stiffest suspension make the best drifter? Does a soft, high suspension make a worse drifter? The more I think about it, the more confused I get.

er...are 240's good at drifting because they have a certain quality, or are they good at drifting because people upgrade them?

The main two things you'll need are a working/ not slipping clutch, and a LSD/welded diff. Stiffened suspension is a plus but not needed. 240's make great drift cars because they are RWD, cheap, lightweight, and common.
