Light-painting a Warner Robins S2000

Jacob and I went out the other night to grab some night shots. I'd never really been successful with these before, so I wanted to give it another shot. Let me know what you think.

I like them except you can't really see the soft top. But not bad at all.

I've seen it used to describe selectively illuminating parts of the subject (what I did) or "painting" a picture by shining it directly into the camera lens (when folks draw hearts or angel wings with sparklers).

Exposure on the car is great, the BG sucks though. It's very bland to me....it's hard to get a nice BG here in atlanta the scenery and buildings are bland so you did the best you could with what you had. Next time try to get the subject out of a parking lot and somewhere more interesting.

Yeah, there are plenty of places down here to check out. I honestly just wanted to see if I could get the exposure down, and it started pouring down rain on us once we got out.

Honestly, I just put it at like f8 and did a 30 second exposure. I walked around the car with my SB600 manually firing. I did one for the front and one for the side, and combined them in PS. It took me a few times to get an exposure that I liked.
