Alright, I'm kinda new to building engines. So here's my question: I just picked up a bare b18b ls block, going to build an lsv, and the block has some surface rust on the cylinder walls. Will the block still work? and what is the best way to get rid of the rust? Any help on this will be appreciated. Thanks

How much rust r we talking here? some surface rust is normal since its bare steel, but if its enough to have pitted the cylinders then you'll probably need to bore it.

It looks like its just surface rust. Very light amount and it doesn't cover the entire cylinder wall.

If u can rub it off with scotch bright pad using LIGHT pressure I would say ur good. Remember light pressure...

rub it out with wd40 and a light scotch bright pad or go pay a few bucks to get a bare minimum hone ran down through it.
