Hey Guys,

Who are u all covered with on insurance?
I'm with allstate but seems a little high

I had a no name insurance company once and i loved it (i say no name but its just because its not one of the hugh companies like geico, alstate, statefarm, etc..) wish i could remember or track down but my insurance was like half what i pay now.

Just for those saying they don't cover as well - i had a lexus that i totalled with that company and they paid me GREAT on the buyout of the car.

Just wanted to see what u guys might be using so help lower some monthly bills.. lol

thanks in advance :goodjob:

Yeah i fill like Alstate is a little higher then others.. even if you cut that down to $225/6months it makes a difference..
I would still love to have a $300 policy lol
You're paying 6months in full to get discount also?
I'll let u know if i find something cheaper and still good

Eventually, they will ALL be high. I'm with State Farm and started out at a great rate. Now they have been going up with about $100 every year. It happens. If you're very price conscious, unfortunately, the only way to keep your insurance low is to do the "insurance hop"....just switch carriers every 3 years or so...

I can't wait till I turn 25. 600 every six months for a almost 20 year old Honda is killing me. I don't even have anything on my driving record.

Been with State Farm for 16 (nearly 17) years.

'99 Jimmy full coverage with a 10K rider for all the custom work
'06 Vue full coverage and $500 deductible
'11 Ram full coverage 1k deductible
5 mil homeowners umbrella policy

Costs me 193.11 a month for everything.

No, I do not have a sparkling driving record.

I shopped around, have been with several companies over the years. Best company so far has been the one I am with now - AAA.

Nationwide. I had Geico because they were the cheapest for liability on my Honda. Nationwide was like $40 a month cheaper for full coverage on the G.

I just saved 320 every 6 by switching to Geico. Other companies(Travelers/Allstate) quoted me 1000-1100 every 6 and now I'm at 780 same coverage.

Vette,Cr-v and house w/ Travelers. Been using travelers for about 10 years.

I've shop around often, but can't seem to find anyone to beat Travelers. Both of the vehicles, Full coverage + house 210 a month. Now, whats really funny, I drive a putt putt 2005 Cavalier. Only wanted liability.. Progressive was cheaper then travelers.. But progressive could not beat travelers on the vette or crv price.. So, If you are like me, my putt putt is with progressive...

Liberty Mutual, I've had them for 2yrs. I'm always shopping for cheaper insurance but the last 2yrs liberty has been the cheapest. I pay $1300 a yr for 3 cars with full coverage on them with road side, towing up to 75miles, and rental if the cars wrecked...

Nice, i'm calling all the companies listed today to see if i can get a better deal then what i have with alstate.

I'm in the same boat, allstate just raised their price on me for now reason, and I took an online course to get a 10% discount from here on out if I don't get any tickets. I have had 1 stop sign ticket that happened 1.5yrs ago.

Just being male and young driving a "sporty" car really ruins it. Allstate used to be the cheapest after all my quotes, but I think I'm gonna make some calls tomorrow.

I've had State Farm for almost 6 years now. I have my vehicle and life insurance though them and my rates have always been reasonable.

State farm quoted me more than my current allstate. I called a family friend over the weekend who is some kind of insurance agent, he has a program that checks multiple companies to find you the best deal, and I'll be finding out tomorrow what I'm finally going to do, but Grange and State Auto were looking like the best options. Almost $300 less every 6 months compared to what I was about to start paying with allstate.

I've never heard of grange or state auto.

A big thing to remember when dealing with insurance is that cheaper isn't always better. I know MANY people that have gone the cheapest route and went on to regret it.

Yeah, I hear you on that one. I've denied cheap insurance before due to bad reviews. I'm doing a little research now, and the reviews aren't too good. But I'm looking at the reviews of even the big names in insurance, including allstate which I'm with, and it looks like no matter the company, about 50% were very dissatisfied with their provider. But man, saving an extra $600 a year on car insurance wouldn't be to bad... If I decide to go that route, I'll probably pay for it in the end though... We'll see what I decide.

I've been checking out reviews for GA providers, maybe it'll help some of you guys out:

As far as user reviews go, I'd never read them. Most users who bother to review are inspired to by bad news. Follow your money. which company is the cheapest? You're looking for liability coverage, correct? you'll never see a dime from your auto company, even if you're hit by someone else. The other person's liability covers your car and your injuries if the other person is at fault.

When it comes to Liability coverage, get the cheapest you can find and stick with them for at least two years before shopping (unless their rates skyrocket).

That's advice from your local insurance agent.

How about for more than just liability?

I passed my Allstate yesterday (my old insurer) to let them know I was terminating my insurance that day. I chose to look elsewhere because my rate increased about $25 a month. The agent tried to walk me through all the discounts I qualify for if I stayed, and it turns out Allstate just dropped a few of the discounts that had previously been applied to my policy over the past 2 years, for absolutely NO reason. Even then, I would be paying about $300 more every 6 months for identical coverage. so I told them no thanks.

About Granger, and the other smaller insurance companies. The independent agent I spoke with told me him and the few guys he works with evaluate the insurers they gives quotes for and recommend, and the companies that they find Jewing the customers they cut from their list, which they have done to a few companies before. He told me they had a few hundred people on Granger and they hadn't had any complaints, his partner has everything he owns insured by them, so I felt a little more comfortable with my decision. That and I went from $1078 every 6 months to $556. Lol

2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic - full coverage @ 26/month.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica Touring - full coverage @ 75/month.
1993 Honda Accord DX - full coverage @ 38/month.
$50k renters policy - $17/month.

26 years old with no perfect record. I'm in good hands.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but DAMN! that's a great savings! As far as Not just Liability goes, the idea of sticking with a company for a while goes the same way in my opinion. Companies tend to give discounts for being with a company for a while.

If you're 26 years old with a perfect record, the insurance company is in good hands putting their promise to pay for you in your hands. you're making them complete profit. Good job on the clean record though, I'm 27 and clean going back 6 years.

Can anyone vouch for this? Does it really go down when you turn 25?
