Allow me to introduce myself...

Now that we got that out of the way..I completed her as far as I was going to take it. Time had come to sell it. She will be missed. Time will tell if she went to a good home or not. I got the money I wanted for it, and thats all I care about at this point! LOL. On to the next one

Meet Annie (yes, Ive named all my cars). She's my brand new 2012 Civic SI....

Trust me, I'm fighting every urge not to molest it, as this is the quietest, most fully functioning car I've ever owned. But the bug has already bitten. This thread will be pretty slow going at first, mainly because the aftermarket isn't quite there yet. There are a couple suspension solutions out, a couple of the 8th generation parts cross over, but I'd like the guinea pigs to go ahead and do the real world testing for me before I shell out any serious cash

Of course I bought all of the little things that will make the honda fanbois sport chubby's in about 5-10 years: Door visors, mud guards, the standard illumination kit, hood bra. I'll get to all that a little later.

Plus-side of having a brand new car is people want you to test their shit on your car. I was contacted earlier this week by a company in Canada to test their new LED's, do a write-up, and review later. Some other 9th gen'ers have been test mules for companies like F2 Autolife, Eibach, Full Race, BC, and Bisimoto. It's a damn shame we don't have anyone cool like that out on this side of town.

After seeing another 9th gen'er as guinea pig for Eibach and their sportline set of springs, Im pretty sure I might go that route. It provides a nice drop, and he reports that the ride doesn't deviate much from the stock feel. That's what Im after. Low, with a STOCK ride quality. Using his ride as a reference, I did a very quick photoshop of the potential ride height.

Before (stock)...

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7241/7279363534_db347ca844_z.jpg

After (eibach sportline springs)

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7079/7169302201_27a5273c01_z.jpg

My only issue with putting springs on stock shocks is it may have the best ride, but Im not sure how long the stock shocks will hold up with the drop, and If I get coilovers, will they get close to the stock ride quality?

Ironic that you say guinea pig, because that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the side profile of these cars. I'm just not a fan of the body lines at all.

It took a minute to grow on me, Just like the 8th gen before it. I thought it looked like ass, but better than that ugly 7th gen. The more and more I saw em on the road though, the more I wanted one for some reason

i think they look better than the 8th gen personally.

Stock Shocks will hold up fine with a drop. Eibach will not destroy, itll make their life shorter yes, but we are talking maybe 20k miles less. At 80k you should be changing your struts anyway (even though most people dont).

The problem i have with coilovers is that most of them are all china made bullshit. Its extremely hard to find a GOOD QUALITY coilover system under $1000. Then, you have to tweak it to get it right. Lets be honest most drivers dont touch their coilover settings and adjustable dampening is a waste of money for almost everyone. If you plan on just driving the car point a to point b, get the springs, upgrade shocks when they go bad 3 years down the road.

IMO

i rather coilovers over springs...like currently, i can only get to a certain height because of my entrance, hopefully later i can go lower whenever i move again

IMOThat makes too much sense. Eibach usually follows up their springs with a decent set of shocks/struts too so that might work out anyway. I guess i can't go wrong with the springs. Saw a 9th gen on one of the forums today with the same drop on some BBS RSs. It was something magical.

I like where this is going. I wonder how those wheels will look on my Accord....hmm....Might look pretty good, they're 5x114, but I can't let you have these. This is one set of stock wheels I think actually look good. I do have a nice set of wheels you CAN buy from me though. :ninja:

I wish I could get rid of em. The ECU checks for them, and if there's a fault, the traction control and the VSC doesn't work.

Some people do, however, fabricate a pressurized container, stick the sensors inside of it, and stick that in the trunk.

Update for those that don't know, my car got egged about a week back. Haven't even made the 3rd payment on it yet. Caused some pretty significant damage, so I dropped it off at the body shop this morning.

This is what an egg shell does to your paint just incase anyone didn't know...

Yeah, its almost down to the metal.

I really wish I knew, and I really wish I coulda got a hold of whoever did it and snatch my deductible back through their urethra. I think I've concluded it was a couple punk kids from the grocery store fucking around cause I heard the noise right as I passed the back delivery side of a Publix over here

But yeah, my insurance covered it. Which kinda sucks because I bought the car with the intention of trying to keep incidents off the record, so when I do go to sell it, it'll be worth that much more.

It could be worse. My sister crashed my Fit into a Subway restaurant three days after I bought it new.

You drive a manual car barefoot and "forget" that the brake pedal sits a bit higher than the gas pedal. :/

Also she was pretty nervous about driving my new car.

I noticed the front end of this car kinda lacked a little. So I got on the phone with John @ JDP Engineering. Makers of quality carbon pieces such as...

http://www.jdpengineering.com/jdpcarbon/S2KFrtLip/S2K3.jpg

and

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x386/howietardd/file-6.jpg

and

http://www.jdpengineering.com/jdpcarbon/EVOXRalliart/Ralliart1.jpg

I told John my car was missing a front lip. He says "Find me 10 other people to buy the same lip". So I did. After much deliberation, he says "I think the Evo style lip would work best on this car, and it'll allow us to fit it do all the models.

So here we go....

I'm definitely gonna do that in the back. The front is really close to flush though when you look at it. I'm wondering though if it'll give me enough cranks on the lugs to keep em on...

Extended studs with black lug nuts. Keep it subtle.
