Own a Gun? Please Keep it moving.Guessthey were not happy with the poll results the first time so USA today is running another one... Vote now

Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro- gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms. Here's what you need to do:

First - vote on this one. Second- launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published. Click below to vote.

I'll move along.

I can see this thread turning ugly. I voted three times for good measure.

Voted.

The 2nd Amendment - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The Bill of Rights is the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. All of these rights were penned as individual rights and limitations on the power of the federal government, not state rights.

If Holder thinks that the 2nd Amendment is not related to individual rights, then he needs to go back to studying in high school, as he has no clue as a lawyer.

District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) - The Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. In dicta, the Court listed many longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession as being consistent with the Second Amendment.

McDonald v. Chicago (2010) - The Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government.

I'm going to guess the fact that the addres the link directs to says "/2007/november" in it. :dunno:

I voted before I saw that, but I doubt this will get any mention from anyone if it is that old.

Anyway is a good way just to remind, and we didnt forget about previous intentions, i guess as long as the poll stays working is always taken in consideration, and gun enthusiast like me understands its importance,

So no matter how old it is, the 2nd amendment is older than that, and still up, and is for us to keep it that way, new generations seems that dont care for shit, well i do, and as far as i am alive i will defend that amendment to the end and final consequences.

The principle of this post is fine. 2007 or not, we've been notified if by no other means and can vote on the proper poll.
