In the general opinion of IA, which would be cheaper, assuming no corners were cut and all work was done by me (I know what I'm doing)...Supercharging my d-series or swapping for a B18c1 GSR motor?
I want to maintain daily driver status!

Thanks for your input!

IMO Boosting is cheaper than swapping cause most want an arm/leg just for a complete swap that need no work done.

the amount you would need for the swap, you can boost your D, tune, make power

turbocharge the d series. dont supercharge lol.

you can turbocharge it under 1500, make 250whp. it'll be fun.

GSR swap, more reliable, less complicated, and N/A for the win.

Just boost the D, you can piece together a nice kit and tune for $1500.

I found an awesome deal on a jrsc so that is why I choose not to turbo, plus I want to keep a/c haha. Thanks guys!

I'm guessing the one for $500 on CL? You can keep AC with turbo just need to buy AC friendly manifold.

Not that one haha. Cheaper, with injectors, hondata etc.

Boost FTW! Just make sure the charger is in good shape so your setup will be reliable for a while and getting a tune is a must!

So far on my to do list:
-replace piston rings
-torque some shit to factory spec
-bigger injectors
-figure out where all of the extra vacuum fittings go on my old intake and tb
-install supercharger etc
-tune on hondata

I'll be running about 7.5psi on stock internals.

What am I missing? lol

What kind of injectors you looking for I have BDl fuel rail & FPR and 450 cc blue tops for sale

Maybe a upgrade map sensor? 3 bar?

Stock map is 1.7 Bar if I remember correctly, atmospheric pressure=14.7 which = 1 Bar Which leaves a stock map sensor being able to read .7 Bar which is a little over 10psi If I remember correctly so 7.5psi will be fine with a stock Map. lol

Also depending which hondata system you have (s100, or s200 if you have s300 then def keep that) it may just be easier to switch to crome or whatever your tuner likes.

:goodjob: s300 ftw

I know mechanics, not tuning or electronics...I'm used to carbureted engines haha.

IMO the jrsc @ 7.5psi just isnt worth it. You'll be lucky to make 150whp. I'd definitely put a turbo kit together. Stock MAP will be fine for no more boost than a jrsc will push, but you'll definitely need larger injectors. I've used many sets of 450cc dsm injectors over the years with no problems. I currently have a set in my car now.
