I have been trying to do some homework on the lowering procedures on these old trucks. Found a couple good builds simliar to where I want this one to be. In a nut shell, I want to get this things as low as it will go without bags or any crazy modifications. Like it or not, its mine! :goodjob: Cheap paint, minor body work, crazy offset diamonds, and alittle interior touch up basically is all I have on the list. Any "good/helpful/friendly" adivce, sling it my way. Wanna hate, just hit the red X at the right top corner.

Weber carb, new VC gasket, plugs, wires, and dizzy cap. Runs pretty good and clutch feels decent.

BTW, For lowering the front, cut the bumpstops down and back out the torsion bars all the way. If you want lower, you can pull them out and rotate them (re-index) them a notch to give you more room to drop it.

For the rear, get a set of leafs off of a 4x4 720 pickup and that will drop you another 2 inches. The arch on the 720 springs is much less aggressive then the 620's.

If you look VERY closely on the passenger door at the bottom corner by the front fender you can see a TINY small rust hole. Only patch of rust on the body I've found. Undercarriage is rust free along with the rocker panels and inside cab. The battery tray is rusted tho.

I have alot of small things I wanna try so stayed tune!

Actually, if you'd like to go as low as you can, just remove all the helper springs from the rear and flip the lone spring left. This is what I did on my '77 Toyota. Later, QD.

Not a good one, though. This picture was taken back in 1992. Later, QD.

What did you do about the front?

The front end of this truck had coil springs. Not torsion bars like I think yours does. From my understanding, you should just be able to crank down on the nut on the end of the torsion bar to lower it. Later, QD.

Yes, I have torsion bars but they will only go so low I am sure. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Now when you were explaining about removing all helper springs, you mean take all the leaf springs but one? Kinda confused. Because I chatted with a guy at IA and he said he removed every leafspring but one and flipped it on his to slam it.

Yes. There is only one leaf that bolts to the front/rear shackle. Remove all springs but that one, turn that one upside down and place it back in the shackle and bolt it back in. You'll need help and another car jack. One side will be easy to bolt up. You'll need the car jack to raise the unbolted side into position as you won't be able to push it up at all. Later, QD.
