I'm in the market to buy a newer car. I been told from many people that getting a loan at a credit union is the way to go. I would like recommendations on Credit Unions from your own experience. Positive or negative feedback will be much appreciated.

I'd like to add that I am in the market to buy a $4500-$5500 vehicle. Likely with a little over 100,000 miles. I tried BOA, but they won't finance vehicles with over 100,000 miles on it and the loans can't be less than $7500.

Thank you.

Honestly you are probably better off saving unless you are really in a bad spot for a car, but credit unions usually are more lenient on what they will lend on

I am in a bad spot for a car. I have an immaculate credit history also.

I always have and will continue to finance my vehicles via a credit union. I personally use Delta Community Credit Union.

Check with Georgia's Own Credit Union.
I recommend them also, they have very low interest rates ! And they financed my car which had about 116,000 miles.

Credit unions will usually have better interest rates, but I doubt any financial institution will give a secured loan for an old high mileage car. You might have to get a personal loan or just save up cash. The best thing to do is to talk to somebody at the bank....

Penfed...anyone can join...1.99 rate for 12-36 months for that vehicle if you have decent credit and you need a loan for the amount you say......used or new..

I always have and will continue to finance my vehicles via a credit union. I personally use Delta Community Credit Union.

As do I. Rates as low as 2.75% for cars 5 years old or newer and as low as 3.25% for older than 5 years. https://www.deltacommunitycu.com/Personal/loancenter/rates.asp

Depending on where in Gwinnett you are, there's a branch right on the corner of Sugarloaf and Satellite that might be convenient for you.

Plus they just released their Android app earlier this week which is pretty slick for finding ATMs, branches, making payments, etc.

Though I'm not in GA anymore, I would highly recommend a credit union. My own car is financed through my CU. Atomic Employees Credit Union, no issues whatsoever and they look out for you, they wont lend to you if you cannot afford it.
