Sean Payton suspended for a year! And the Saints lose two 2nd round draft picks. Guess that'll teach 'em to have a bounty program.
Tebow traded to the Jets!

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has been suspended for one year and the Saints will lose their second round pick in 2012 and '13 and pay $500,000 as a result of the NFL's bounty investigation, the league announced Wednesday.
Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who orchestrated the program, has been suspended indefinitely. Team general manager Mickey Loomis also faces an eight-game suspension and a $500,000 fine.

Got to imagine this move for the jets is an effort to light a fire under Sanchez's ass.

I'm glad they came down that hard.
And I am honestly sick of hearing about Tebow, he's a garbage QB no matter where he plays.

Joe Horn said it best on NFL radio. What about all of the other teams doing this? Are they going to be investigated and punished the same way?
Before you get all high and mighty about your team, Rich Eisen has had several former players on his podcats saying that bounties are a fact on every team in the NFL going back at least 40 years. Receivers would find a few nice crisp Ben Franklins in their locker after a game if they had a particularly nasty crack back or something similar.

I don't doubt it's widespread throughout the NFL, and in reality probably adds a bit of excitement to the game. But, it's against the rules, the Saints got caught and Goodell made an example of them. They're going to turn the NFL into flag football soon anyway with all rules they keep adding. I swear some games last season felt like there was as much time spent on penalties, reviews and challenges as there was actually playing the game and that all gets boring at times tbh. I want to watch football, not penalty yards being marked off.
