uh... good luck.

if your trying to squeeze 300whp out of a b16.. GOOD LUCK. the stroke of the b16 alone will limit your ability to make 300whp.

if money is not an issue, send the engine to a big name builder in the states and tell them you want 300whp all motor.

if money is an issue: get a b20 bottom end, arp rod bolts, ITR replica pistons in 84mm, send the head to portflow for a street port, skunk2 manifold, and some pro2 cams. this will yield you very good power for the money ...

if this all sounds like gibberish to you then you really shouldnt be trying to build anything :ninja:

300 NA is not impossible... there are a select few in Cali that have done this and gone beyond the 300 mark NA I shit you not. Now for a B16 you are gonna have to put in some work to get even near the 200hp mark. I make 204hp but I only put down 170whp NA and to be honest I would have been better off running B18C unit to make the power I make now because the power band and TQ would come in sooner than where it is now in my B16A. All I can say is good luck sir . . .

no it doesn't sound like gibberish lol, i just want to see what other people have done to make good power and still be somewhat reliable so i have a starting point.
thanks, keep it coming.

id be happy with 250 just trying to get close....

I think youre gonna have a tough time. Think about it:

Stock b16 makes arond 160 crank HP, and typically dyno closer to 135-140 if we are generous. They are already stock 10.4:1 compression. The heads flow pretty decent from the factory.

Youre wanting to make +110hp over stock. This is going to require higher compression pistons (id guess in the 12:1 range?) which will also require good gas and a damn good tune. Plus p&p headwork, cams, etc. Im sure its possible but to make that power you could do it less expensively just throwing on a small turbo and low boost and have MORE torque if you size it right. It will also end up costing less if you plan it well.

what you say is true but im no millionaire i plan on building this car over time so boring, headwork, all of this ive accounted for but dont get me wrong i know the
b16 isn't the best power house but they've been great motors for a decent street car for years i figure calling my budget $4000 over the next few years should make a pretty decent amount of power. i'm not looking for a monster or something purely raceable. just something stout yet reliable.

I dont see any point in reinventing the wheel, but look at these threads. Notice even the 2.0L guys arent touching 250whp..

All-Mota: GSR 260whp (298BHP)/16x TQ
1.9L GSR, Jenvey ITBs , 12:1, Buddy Club Stage 5s

here above is what im trying to say obviously its not a b16 but its not a stock gsr either. my point if you notice above the whole time is to get as close as i can to 250. 300hp was an exaggeration yes but it got you open the thread lol, if i can get damn close im a happy person bottom line. call it an extended experiment.

since you only have 4k, jenvey itb's are out. If you want good power just get some eagle rods and Mahle pistons and rebuild the engine otherwise stock. Then get yourself a tuning aparatus and injectors and a higher bar MAP sensor and a good clutch. Then you can piece together a turbo kit with about 2k and tune it. You can make your 300 whp all day easy and reliably.

what are your thoughts on superchargers? I would like to stay away from turbo just a prefference thing.
