Wait, what? You mean it's that easy? All I have to do is follow those signs on the side of the road and nothing will happen to me? Sweeeeeet.

Just another example of the fucking police not stopping real criminals and just giving out tickets to people that don't deserve them. I mean WTF??? They should have pulled you over and given you the wood shampoo.

Any one of you claiming to do the speed limit 100% of the time is full of shit... or should be in an old folks home ;)

And if this is in reference to my thread, I'm not complaining about getting the ticket... we were speeding plain and simple.

Just dreading the $300 to pay it. Wanted to know if nolo would do anything or if there was another way to lessen the financial blow. In my home county in NY they will negotiate fines.

On a side note... Anyone remember this video from years back?

Too bad what's in the video will never happen. Be great if it did, though. Later, QD.

Honestly, as a truck driver you do 55 in a 55? I'm don't mean to call you out but I've seen one too many trucks fly by to believe that.

Never done even 60 in a 55?

I never said that. But yes, in downtown Atlanta, I do. Seeing as how trucks aren't allowed inside I-285, I don't draw any more attention to myself than needed when I am down there. Later, QD.

It did happen. On I-285 on the top end at that.

It is technically illegal though, and I know someone who got pulled over and ticketed for driving 55mph in a 55mph zone on I-75.
O.C.G.A. 40-6-184 - Impeding the flow of traffic.

I know. That was the experiment, though. I'm talking in all actuality.

I don't see how that is possible except maybe if the driver were in the farther left lanes. I do 55-60 in my Civic every time I hit the interstate and have never been said anything to. But if everyone were to do 55 through downtown and heading towards the outskirts, then there would be no traffic to impede. Later, QD.

It was 2 lanes on I-75 south of Atlanta. GSP pulled over both drivers for doing 55 in a 55, and ticketed both with impeding the flow of traffic, even though they were doing the speed limit exactly. I knew both drivers. Both went to the court, both pled not guilty, and explained that they would have been guilty of speeding if they were going any faster. The officer said that they were impeding the flow of traffic, and that more than 8 cars were behind each. The judge sided with the officer, and both were fined.
The fact is that cops can write up whatever they want, and if it is GSP, the judge will always side with the officer. I've had a judge say that point blank to me before, and he would be happy to tell you that as well if you wanted to ask him. He explained it this way - he has to work with his 4 GSP every day, and only has to see me once or twice. It makes a better working environment to take their word over anyone elses.

Man that video is a flashback. I did that once in a construction zone with a friend, and a trucker called my tag in like a douche.

And we were both actually doing 5 over. lol

lol, Me and a bunch of the guys from stockbridge went 40 on 75N, because signs say "minumum speed 40mph". That lasted like 2 minutes until a dumbass in a 240 that was following us up there sped passed us and started drifting across all lanes.

Criminalizing everything nowadays. I was pulled over for going 35 in a 35 in Ohio, but he was profiling me because my car was "too nice".
